I think things will all depend on how the offseason goes. I would say there is a very good chance there will be changes to the roster as a whole and right now it will be hard to say what the lines will be and who will play where! |

(Use Pierre McGuire voice) "I've been saying this since the beginning, Colin White has the ability to be a great player and a top line player. He's not Patrice Bergeron but he has the same awareness and hockey smarts. He's just so darn good! He's going to be a really really good player. A REALLY good player. I'm surprised he didn't get more playing time this past season. The guy is off-the-charts good. I'm telling you, he's the real deal. Give him a shot!" |

I like white's potential just fine, but has Pierre ever not praised a player? |

I predict he will be on the team full time next season. It will be up to him what he does from there |

I wasn't super impressed by White's play in the lineup last year, but given the team results and the fact he missed training camp and the beginning of the season due to injury, it would be hard for anyone to leave a great impression.
White's ceiling has always been a top 6 player, so I guess we will see if he can take a step next year. I am not super confident that he will. He is a smart hockey player, but doesn't really have any skill that "wows" which is what typically separates top 6 forwards from bottom 6 guys.
At this point in time, I have more confidence in Brown and Bathersson making a top 6 impact (maybe not next year of course) before White.
I wouldn't discount a free agent signing/small trade to duct tape the 2nd line role while prospects develop.
This is really a premature conversation until we know what happens at the draft and if Karlsson is staying or leaving. |

White started between Kane and Gaudreau but was replaced before the end of the first after illustrating he was not capable. In a world of lowered expectations, if 12min of ineffective play between 2 all stars qualifies him for the #2 C role in Ottawa then perhaps those expectations should be lowered even further. |

I think he could fill that role, the chemistry he showed with Stone was quite good.
However, long term I think Logan Brown could take the #2C Position |

hearing the Sens like Boqvist over Zadina and have major issues with Svechnikov, wouldn't draft him if he fell to four. And no you muppet Alfie I am not trolling, this is legit talk from from a professional hockey podcast

I think if the Sens are looking to take a defenseman, they must believe they can flip Karlsson for a top 6 forward. |

thats the logic behind what was posted.
Sens with Stone, Hoffman, Duchene, Ryan in the fold, White and Brown graduating soon. Another Winger doesnt do anything for them with how the current forward group is built
outside of Chabot, they really dont have high end D talent coming in to help transition if or when Karlsson is moved.
Boqvist starts that transition....as your GM and Owner said, sens are in 3-5 year plan and logic says D is where you start. Did find the Svechnikov comment interesting, not sure what they know about why the Sens have issues with him as they didnt elaborate but sounded like if Dahlin, Zadina, Tkachuk that they might not be interested in Svechnikov at 4. |

I thought Both of svech and zadina were considered definitive in 2 and 3.
So it would have to be boqvist over Tkachuck |

Pure talent wise its svech at 2 and Zadina at 3.
But Canes drafted Martin Necas 12th overall last year and that is Zadina's linemate from WJC and those 2 tore up the tourney together.
If they get tempted with reunited them....Habs might go Tkachuk based on some of the high character hard to play against stuff he mentioned...montreal media is already pining over him....plus high end Russian playing in the OHL, missing time to injury at 3rd overall. Thats the same description as Galchenyuk...wonder if they are scared off from him.
If Canes go Zadina, could throw a curve ball based on some initial thoughts and comments guys are heading from other team sources. A lot can change in 2 months as these draft boards always move day to day. Only lock is Dahlin at 1 |

Yes...
Great to see Ovechkin finally beat the Penguins. A bonus that it gives us the number 22 overall. |

So, Sens pick 4 and ...22? - david22
Picks 28-31 are bottom 4 now.
Pick 27 isn't them; it was the loser of NSH WPG.
Pick 26 goes to the Boston Bruins who had the better record.
Therefore Pick 25 will go to Ottawa.
Sens currently have the 4th & 25th pick in the draft |
