Laine has one goal is his last 6 games, Matthews had 2 points in 7 games. Stamkos has 3 goals since March. Guess they aren’t core players. - Pegullaville
All those three...have had their slow playoff production talked about constantly. Because they are actual star players. That’s my point. Kane is not. He’s just a guy people keep pointing to as if we traded prime Corey Perry |

They are going to have to make genius deals, make amazing picks in some rounds, or both, and that's counting Dahlin, Eichel, and Mittelstadt being everything we all hope they are, and maybe more.
It sure as hell isn't easy. - kingcong39

My point is that we’ve seen bad hockey for so long, that Evander Kane and Ryan O’Reilly look like star players here.
They are just guys on other teams.
The core needs to be more than just guys |

You're undervaluing them both, IMO.
They didn't look like stars here, nor are they 'just guys' on other teams.
They're both perfect complimentary players that should be added AFTER your team is already over the playoff hump.
San Jose is just playing a team that the NHL assembled to be great from day 1, from the ground up, with a coach who absolutely got shafted in Florida, a team that missed the playoffs with over 90 points and had he still been there, probably would have been at the top of the conference.
How do you feel about Tyler Myers being a #4 on a really solid playoff team? He's exactly the same type of player as ROR or Kane: One you add once you're over that playoff hump to compliment your already in-tact core. |

Kanes production is important to Sabres fans.
Would be nice to have another 1st rounder in the '19 draft.
Would you want kane back here for 6 years 36 million/ 5 years 30 million? |

This is more of what I mean. I agree with that.
The Sharks were smart to get Kane and got him at a good price.
Doesn’t make the Sabres idiots for moving him or eventually moving ROR |

Anyone saying this is an idiot
I can 100% see San Jose resigning him, with Thornton pretty much done and Pavelski needing a winger, and he ain't getting any younger, either. |

I mean, they treated depressed housewives with LSD in the 1960's, in micro-doses, it's an anti-depressant. One of the best around, actually.
That whole "stays in your cerebrospinal fluid" thing is absolutely not true, btw. |
