He was a bit inconsistent but I thought he was noticeably better than some of the other guys that were in his place for much of the season. I thought he showed promise. |

But I believe we still hold his rights if he ever wants to come back |

We should have moved him at the deadline and got "something" - gerbe75pts
is there anyone other than jack that you didn't want to move at some point? |

Meh. Looks like Pilot will replace his potential...only this time he starts in Rochester and adjust to the game down there.
As far as why the NHL looks the other way (Hartnell’s hi5 on him) why haven’t they given Marchand a 2 + 10 for his antics? Licking someon3 I s for sure unsportsmanlike, and they have “talked to him several times already.
Now, what I would prefer to see is the recipient lay a nice uppercut to the jaw while his tongue is out of his mouth!
Ever have your tongue bitten forceably by your teeth from a hit to the jaw...I did, it hurts like a MEr, couldn’t tLk for several days while it healed.
And BTW, Boston is Tampa’s worst nightmare as far as matchup goes...the B’s goonyism can knock the Bolts off their game. Glad to see the Bolts maintains composure and playing team tough. GO BOLTS! |

You did not feel the same way ? At some point when a core isn't working you start a new one

boston always seems to get away with more than any other team in the league...although I thought boston would be in the scf, i'm glad tb has them on the brink of elimination |

No lol ..
Let's remember the "new core" was made 3 years ago
What have they done but fail ?
We already have the new core coming in place
Casey , jack ,Dahlin
Vs old core

throwing out risto and/or ror and/or skunk with the bathwater doesn't make a lot of sense to me right now...especially since i'm not convinced that Housley is the right coach |

How is Sam a core player ? I don't think anybody should list him as a core player until he develops consistency |

I’m actually torn between complete tear down, save a few (Gerbe perspective) and
build it up (majority view).
I guess I weigh intangibles more heavily than others do...so I am conflicted for example with a guy like Sam.
Did he just feel like playing to save his contract year in game 40sh ... or was it a sign of his maturation in terms of determination and compete-level that propelled him forward?
On one hand I want to believe it just clicked for him and we should see that 55-60 point player going forward. On the other hand I fear the Stafford scenario.
Short-term bridge deal is best until we see more consistency in on-ice play from him.
The debate on others goes on as well. |

it's not all that unusual for a player in his early 20's to have consistency issues...so you trade him away for a winger, yet you just created a hole in the top-six on the right side...
he had 25 goals and 50 points last season and he's 22 |

Let's not forget we drafted him to be a franchise center but hey our 1st overall forward becomes a good Hecht now awesome
I would trade him for a faster player that's actually a winger or a defenseman
Then trade ROR for the winger |

Well, that is a debate.
With respect to Risto, !! IF!! PHam is right in pointing to him specifically as one of the guys who doesn’t listen to the coach and plays his own game (in a team sport) AND it has been for 2 coaches now ... what to do with a player like that?
Would McDermott & Beaner stand for this scenario...
-4th and 7 on the Bills 49, 49 seconds to go, Bills down by 1
-Allen takes the snap and drops back
-Pats are on a 5 man blitz, with heavy pressure coming up the middle
-Allen calmly turns to his right and throws a pass into the flats as a dumpoff to Shady outside the hash marks
- Shady?, Shady?!!!
-WTF? shady ran a streak down the left sideline...no chip to the Blitzing LB...just took off long!!!!
- Pats get the ball, run out the clock
-Brady awards a game ball to Shady...”he was our best player during crunch time”

he's not the first and won't be the last center that moved to wing after being drafted...and besides, the sabres have an overabundance of centers anyway...you don't like 50 points with upside on the wing?...
as for Hecht, that's a little harsh...sam will never reach that status until he can score consistently from behind the end line |

i'm a fan of pham's coverage, and what he said could well be true...skunk also said that he started playing better when he played his game, yet pham justified that by saying that he was doing so within the system...
just what does that all mean? |
