i think its good hes signed but i am not convinced he is coming over just yet. dahlen went back and there is only so much icetime available in utica. with the likes of jasek, dahlen, lind, gadjovich coming in, and potentially goldobin, motte, and pettersson being sent down, there are a lot of bodies joining an existing cast of players

Not necessarily disagreeing but I think they expect Goldy and Pettersson to play out the entire year in Van. Nobody cares about Mottes ice time, he'll never make the NHL.

No reason not to have as many kids as you can in Utica, if you want them to play together in Van eventually, let them build chemistry now

Utica doesn't have much returning in terms of anything worth while. You get all those guys on that team if you can. Healthy scratches in the AHL are more of a tool because of the strange schedule. So you can sit guys when you have a 3 in 3 or a 5 in 7.

And with the Canucks roster there is going to be a lot of open spots, plus injuries, plus why not rotate some guys through? Give guys a limited taste. "Hey pal, its your week with the big club"

Sending him back to Finland would be a waste of a contract spot under the 50 limit. You generally don't give guys one of those spots and then not have them in NA. The team will probably be pushing 45+ contracts by the time camp rolls around.
