caps have been decent at that so far but I'd say VGK systems are too strong. They are the LA Kings of their cup years. Personally I like their systems better than those LA used. Very good complete set executed with speed. I don't see anyone doing it in 6 games time. |

Ferland was a factor in that series, but the Canucks loss due to WD's terrible 1-2-3-4 line rotation strategy, refusal to match lines, and the Sbisa-Bieksa trainwreck pairing that was on the ice for like half of the Flames goals.
Also, according to Flames fan, Ferland's gotten away from that style of game since Hartley left and since he's been promoted to a top 6 role.
Wilson is a different animal, he plays the same way no matter what line/role he's given and no matter who his coach is. - Nucker101
absolutely!
plus add in that the flames made strategic changes against our zone entries and WD made no changes. You will lose every time that way |

The wilson hit wasnt that late, maybe a second to late. Hit looked worse then it was because the size difference Marchessault is 5'9 174 Wilson is 6'4 218. Perron should get a few games though |

Like Rome on Horton? If this was his first questionable hit, nothing probably comes of it, but I think after already being suspended these playoffs for a borderline hit he's going to get dinged for this one. Even though I agree, it wasn't quite as bad as it's being made out to be. Not to mention, it's a late hit on a star player, so that'll also be held against Wilson. |

I'd say this is correct. Trotz has been able to adapt that clubs defensive structure to take out Crosby and then Stamkos...no reason to think something similar might happen here. Vegas did not look like the Vegas of the first three rounds last night and were pretty lucky the Reaves goal was allowed to count consider the blatant crosscheck to the back of Carlson. Even Ferraro said it was a chicken-sh!t missed call by the refs. See where it goes. |

lol if that was Rome last night he would be gone for the remainder of the playoffs. That was the leverage Gary and Campbell needed to make rule changes to the SCF in 2011. But it is what it is. Wilson will probably just get one game Perron should get at least 3 IMO. But Perron plays for Vegas so he may just get one game. |

70.10 Fines and Suspensions - The first player or goalkeeper to leave the players' or penalty bench during an altercation or for the purpose of starting an altercation from either or both teams shall be suspended automatically without pay for the next ten (10) regular League and/or Play-off games of his team.
Left bench to cross check Ovi, should get 10, but your right its Vegas so probably a fine |

Could or will, sorry its will.
Vegas are the best thing for Betman and his owner over lords, as the
Seattles, Houston's, Kansas City's will be lining up to join the league for over half a Billion if they can build a team of second and third liners and have a nice prospect foundation and possibility at playoffs. |

Crazy that the Canucks have already signed 4 players from last years draft and another is guaranteed to be signed(Dipietro). Compared to 2 players from 2016 it makes me wonder if it comes down to superior decision making, a stronger draft board or just plain luck |

its reported they are working on a Dipietro contract right now, and id imagine they sign Rathbone after a few years in college |

I'm interested to see what Rathbone looks like when he starts playing at a higher level, apparently his skating is top notch and he has PP QB potential |

IMO Washington getting this far and the losing is a good thing on the Tanev front. Getting to the finals gives them more confidence in a group that was looking like it was declining, and Orpik cannot be out there. If he continues to look lost and they lose, I could see that affordable Tanev contract being a target |

Minor technical point, the Canucks actually faced the Canadiens in the second round of the playoffs as they won their division on the strong play of Gary Smith and received a first round bye. First ever NHL entry draft selection and Canuck alumni Garry Monahan was on the radio yesterday’s telling this exact storey, with a quote from Smith saying “first round bye, second round bye bye.”
So it appears that both the Sabres and Canucks had quite a bit of success in only their 5th season. |

Vegas hadn't played in over a week. They were rusty but still won. |

They found a way to win yes but I guarantee that game ends different if that Reaves goal is called off as it should have been. The first Vegas PP goal was chicken-sh!t as well. They have had the 7 day layoffs before and to me they looked very vulnerable last night.
Like Lefty says I think WAS will find a way. Hoping anyway lol |

I'm not so sure on that...that was the first sign of them playing sloppy last night I think there is more to come. The grind of the PO's gets to everyone eventually. |

lol at one time I cared if Kesler got his cup I certainly don't now especially after I heard all the back door bullpoop he was trying to pull to get traded from Van.
I'm not really an OV fan but he has cleaned up his act a bit and is playing hard like he wants it. He has to know this will be his only shot. I hate to have to admit this but he is the most prolific scorer of this generation...would be a shame to see him go to the hall without a championship. |

While my moneys on Vegas winning I have to admit watching the Sedins retire without a cup made me think about how hard it'll be on OV and his fans if he never gets one. |

Looks like we, Canadian taxpayers, bought a pipeline this morning.
Fun game to watch last night, sloppy turnovers and defending on both sides but entertaining that's for sure. |
