Well... I can see it. Concern for me is that HOPEFULLY Dahlin and Casey are two mor people who will be deserving of that pay grade.
When guys like Bogo/Pommer and maybe Okposo are gone in a few years... that is just that much more cap space but still.... others will coup that cap. - JVince11
You get Panarin if you have the chance, Eichel needs a winger and you worry about Dahlin and Casey later. Casey has played 6 games or so for the Sabres. IMO it's not a good idea to put him at number 2 center. |

Dreger confirming this morning that #Habs 3rd Ov Pick is not on the table for O'Reilly alone. MTL is okay with paying his bonus though.
I don't care so much about Creasy's validity but did Dreger actually say that? I really thought I heard the opposite? This is knowing that Creasy mainly tweets supportive things or favorable trades for MTL. |

Yeah I am not moving Reinhart, they can keep Pacroiretty then
Reinhart is cost controlled still (I know he is due a new contract) is younger, and just scored 25 goals in a season where he started off awful.
I have faith that he is a 60 point player this season - Stripes77
Why haven't they even reached out to Reinhart to start talking about negotiating his new contract yet? I'm not sold he is someone they are sold on him for their plan, speed and skill. He has smarts and some skill, a great hand eye coordination to tip pucks, but if they want to overall the top 6 maybe they want to change. Anyway, he'll probably still be here. |

What's it cost in picks to make up the difference between ROR and 3OA, or Reinhart and 3OA? I'd rather do that deal - jcragcrumple
Montreal probably wouldnt want to |

Who says they haven't?
It's draft time and all of the talk is about Dahlin and O'Reilly
Botterill is very tight lipped. My guess is they've had conversations already about what he is looking for, if it's outrageous he will be dealt, if not they'll qualify him and negotiate during the summer.
They have until July 1st before they have to "worry" about an offer sheet. |

Dreger said the talk right now is ROR for 30A, i think they have at least some interest in it |

They've had since mid -April to even say it's a priority. They wouldn't let Jack or even Risto blow in the win like this. |

He is a RFA
He isn't going anywhere
Jack is a franchise player
Sam is not
Risto is under contract
I think you're looking for something that isn't there |

If im the sabres and can get Max pac, I'd do it. A true line 1 LW. If it doesnt work out, and the sabres are on the outside looking in, they should be able to flip him for a Rick Nash return at the deadline. |
|
|

If anything I would use the money saved on moving ROR and get a really good 3C center for around $3-4 million to play the hard zone minutes for Casey.
I know Tavares could work for 3 years but with Casey, Dahlin and then Zadina getting new contracts it would be really tough to fit all of them in. - Stripes77
You worry about that in 3 years!! If Tavares is interested in Buffalo (my guess is he is not, even with Buffalo's proximity to his hometown) then you sign Tavares!! Plus, the cap continues to grow and with Seattle coming in in 2 years, or so, it'll jump another $5m. |

Risto was an RFA but was a priority to get signed to a healthy contract. |

If you think the Sabres can win a cup in 3 years then yeah worry about it then.
I just don't think they'll be Cup Contenders by then.
They'll make the playoffs, and maybe win a round but I don't think they'll be contenders. There are too many ifs there.

Under a much different GM
Stop comparing apples and oranges
Botterill is the polar opposite of Murray
Botterill is calculated Murray just threw money and picks around |

I'm not sold on the Patches idea because of the uncertainty of what he's looking for in his next contract, but i'd do it. I wouldn't do it at the expense of Reinhart, though.

He wasn't under contract all summer, came to camp then signed his deal that started that season |
