why give away a potentially elite cornerstone for your franchise?

If the Wings could have traded the 6th overall (maybe a 2nd round pick and something else) for the 11th and 12th picks from the Islanders i wouldn't have been for that...but that was because i would have never imagined that Wahlstrom and Dobson would have still been there.


I don't dislike them taking Zadina at all but i would trade him for Wahlstron and Dobson no problem right now.

Yeah I was thinking trading down to wherever to get Bouchard or Dobson and pick up some assets. I guess another scoring winger isn’t as valuable as d or center to me. Or the rest of the nhl. I’m extremely happy but considering organizational needs he could have been flipped for a lower pick to acquire one of the talked about d men plus assets

You have to realize the position a player plays does not change the on ice value they provide.

This organization needs talent at every position. Trying to go after D because the guys we have now suck is stupid.
