Give me 50s Elvis any day. That 70s version was a trainwreck. |

Aretha Franklin, the Queen of Soul, has died at her home in Detroit. - LeftCoaster
My first real introduction to Aretha was through the blues brothers movie.
Fell in love with soul and r&b music after that. RIP. |

Sedins had 9 PP goals - VANTEL
how many assists on boeser goals? i think their playmaking will be missed. i also think EP will help so it might end up close. |

The minutes they played and their incredible endurance will also be missed. |

It was mostly 2 man play making . Sorry was never a fan
The second unit accounted for 62 points combined in very limited time.

Even if they find the production the Sedins produced, they'll still finish in the bottom of the league. It's not about replacing it, it's about totally exceeding it to become a better club.
29th in even strength scoring. |

You don’t appreciate their work ethic over the years? I think hank’s Ironman streak was impressive. Game after game those two always showed up.
All I have is deep respect for those two. That said, I’m glad they retired when they did. |

-22 and -21 even strength . Teams worst |

I am looking forward to a more high-tempo game this season, similar to what how started last season off.
The wins and losses are not that important, it is more about getting some more icetime for the younger players.
As a commentor who has been critical of the Petterson pick, I really hope he has a fantastic season, as we all know we desperately need him too be a bigtime contributor. |

At the end but I choose to look at the whole body of work. You got to respect what they brought night after night.
Don’t use their worst seasons as an example of their abilities.
Either way they are gone now and we can focus on the future which makes me happy. |

There are parts of their game I respected and parts that I hated. Never was a fan of the two man unit. |

Understood. That’s the complaint I hear most about them; working as a two man unit.
But I usually counter with asking how many fringe nhlers had career years playing with those two? I think there are a few who benefited. |

Burrows made a career out of cleaning up what they missed. There was some great passes to him but most of his goals are because he was a junk yard dog scoring on their missed chances |

No, the last two were painful I agree. But like TL, I choose to remember the good times.
Not everyone leaves their sport like Barry Sanders. Most dramatically fade towards the end. |

The twins were a big part of the reason I got so invested in the Canucks in the first place so I give them tons of props for their careers for sure |

Yes and with the Sedins gone we should technically be a batter team 5/5 which will hopefully translate to a few more wins. |

STFU you **** - CanuckDon
"Benning: We’ve added players who give us more skill and more depth. Our young players are going to be another year older. (New coach) Travis Green is going to be fair but demanding and make sure players play to their potential. We want to be competitive, and if everything comes together… that’s why we play the games — to compete for a playoff spot." |
