Matthews had his ppg increase from 0.84 to 1.01. Pretty substantial increase. Just an fyi. |

Yep, that's why I included games played in the data. Since I'm looking at the sophomore slump issue quite broadly, my focus is on the player's overall impact on his team in his second season. I think total points are a better reflection of that than points per game.

If Boeser scores 25 goals and 25 assists in 35 games next year and misses the rest of the year, you wouldn't say his numbers dropped. Anyways im just being nit-picky I enjoyed the blog though. |

Numbers won't matter when he's out in the 2nd round. |

Matthews dropped a bit because he was injured for 1/4 of the season. His ppg average is close to .92 where Laine is around .86 over their first 2 years. they also score at an almost identical rate when it comes to goals at .51. i think they both have room to grow but Matthews when healthy is a Beast |

Neither will Boeser's when they miss playoffs, again.
Man these chirps are awful. We should stop.

As Carol suggested if healthy Boesers numbers will be up. Better team 5/5 now and his PP TOI will increase big time.

Sure, it's only summer league, but I wonder how much this showcase ends up factoring into the negotiations for Boeser's next contract? - Carol

Thank Carol.
To respond to Vantel from yesterday. That's just Vancouver fan base. "Boeser's not good enough and needs to be in the minors". Ends up doing really well. "Gaudette is awesome and should make the team". |

I agree with Vantel, I don't think Green is a fan of Golodbin due to his play away from the puck.
Gaunce >>> Granlund
has like 40 pounds on Granlund too - Nucker101

I don't know if he is going to score at a much higher rate.
.89 is already a pretty high rate. Games played would be the only difference. |

I like how the leafs fans feel they naturally have to come in and defend Matthews being better than his numbers show |

Dude no leaf fan has said that. Eklund, the dude who runs this site blogged that. And every leaf fan who posted in it said McDavid is better. Don't kid yourself. |
