My stance is against the organization.
4 main reasons:
1)CBC 4pm Leafs games no matter how terrible they were.
2)Ballard
3)keeping us out of the 1968 expansion.
4)Media

As for Leafs nation it boils down to the rivalry & even the hatred. Now when its about cups & stupid other crap those fans are outright losers. On the other hand they are a very knowledgeable fanbase compared to our own. Its separating the 2 that gets lost in all the pettiness on both sides. Bragging rights & trash talk has gone on for so long to point it seems neverending. Its all driven home when they don’t support any Canadian team in the PO’s. They bring upon themselves for nobody liking their team. Our fanbase has not exactly endeared other fans to the Canucks either.

During our ‘82 cup run & afterwards i’d be generous in saying our fans said 50/50 we were lucky. We didn’t lose more than 1 game in a series til the dynasty NYI beat us. Now how that is lucky is beyond me.

That same ‘82 cup run only proves if you get into the PO’s anything can happen. A hot goalie & a team full of character went a long ways. Regular season records mean squat especially when ppl ignored we went into the PO’s as the hottest team down the stretch although in a very weak division.

Build a team of character & resiliency in any era & watch out. Hoping that is the direction we are going in. Last years never quit team showed good signs of that.

There is no arguing we’ve had some of the worst management teams in hockey. We are not alone in that. We have had some good moments. Pat Quinn & when Harry Neale let Captain Video remain the coach after his suspension ended.

When us fans get behind our team & that is all of us we turn this town upside down. The electricity is incredible. We don’t need a Bure or a cup run to stoke our fire we need to stoke our teams fire. I know its a lot to ask during these times but there is always a 1st time.

Probably so but fans should think for themselves & less media educated. This town whether it was the Lions back in the day or the Canucks now the media has had their own jerks & we’ve become what they have purveyed.
