Tavares was a pipe dream and the cost to acquire O'Reilly would have been something like Sutter, Granlund and Gaunce, 2019 1st round pick, 2021 2nd round pick, plus the $7.5m signing bonus. Does that sound like a bargain?


Edit - i would have been more onboard with the Beagle/Rousel signings if O'Reilly was playing 2nd line C.
