For 2019-2020, I'd prefer Tanev with Hughes...same logic (defensively sound right side with Tanev, green light on offence for Hughes on left)
things could change with the draft and a possible return of Tryamkin. - SlightlyOffside
Tanev could be traded by then and Gudbranson waived. |

Unlikely sorry. Tanev is needed as a RHD but a big offer changes all of that. Thats a big IF but only way i can see him moved. EG waived never. I’ll give him a mulligan from his 1st 2yrs but its time he gets off the snide. High time he takes over & forces his will on the ice. He has a lot of hearts to win over. |

Not bad but OJ on his offside not for me.
MDZ’s contract will expire & he’s gone. - Nighthawk
I would see Tryamkin on the off side...he plays a fair bit of RHD. I'd leave OJ on LHD

both true / possible, especially if there are further front office changes before next season.

This is something i want FA to be the face & mouth of. No Trev so he picks up the slack.
Hired & fired the guy & take the mic away from JB on these higher profile matters. Then leave it to JB Judd & Jack to wheel & deal. |

Just reading about John McCain's POW experience, man those guys went through hell for FIVE (frank)in years as POW's.
Sounds almost as painful as listening to Vantel suck Jim Benning's balls on a daily basis here on HB - LeftCoaster
I hope he suffered like the hundreds of thousands that suffered under his constant support for militants who burn one nation down after another. Just like Sen. Charlie Wilson in the 70/80's... putting together militant groups, rounding up the private funding... providing the media narratives and unleashing the terror that leads to massive wars with Americans sweeping in to "intervene". Hillary needs a new war criminal to pair up with now. She couldn't find anyone blood thirsty like her in the Dems ever since Maddy Albright was out of the picture. Have to look towards the Rep for that kind of evil... Things are changing though. Dems are now the war party especially with JM kicking the bucket now.

With Barkov a beast as 1C & Trochek as the 2C with Bjugstad pushed to the wing they are looking very solid. Could be a sleeper this year & be a big surprise. |

😂
I’m picking 12-15 if he makes the team.
He’s good enough but waiver exempt.
Hoping he forces his way on the team.
I’m betting he is that good. |

Ed Willes...
• It’s obvious by now that the Vancouver Canucks have a better chance of trading for Elvis Presley than Erik Karlsson but the story here isn’t whether Jim Benning was serious about pursuing the Ottawa defenceman.
It’s what it says about the Canucks in the post-Linden era.
Linden, the recently deposed president, lost his job because he favoured a patient, methodical approach to the team’s rebuild. He’s since told friends the Aquilinis wanted no part of that plan and when Benning presented a more aggressive approach, which included an offer sheet for John Tavares, Linden was dumped.
Karlsson would seem to be part of this new, aggressive approach. This is the third occasion — Karlsson, Tavares, P.K. Subban — in which Benning has made noises about pursuing a marquee name, which likely plays well with ownership.
But it leaves the faithful to wonder what is the vision for this team. The Canucks lone strength is its prospect pool. It’s the only reason their fan base haven’t given up on this team.
So is the plan now to peel off three or four of those young assets to land a star? That’s the only way you’re going to land a Karlsson-type player and Benning knows that. He should also know making that kind of deal will further alienate a fan base whose patience has been worn to a nub.
It’s just the latest example of an organization which trips all over itself trying to tell its story. The Canucks’ direction remains muddied but one thing is clear. They’re not going to win back consumer confidence by changing course again. - LeftCoaster
What a bunch of garbage.
Where's the rushed rebuild? Nowhere... too slow actually...right? Isnt that the (frank)ing complaint by these same hacks. We have not traded a single 1st round pick away under JB and Linden. Adding a few vets has not been about speeding up any rebuild. This team is getting youth in every position.
Every time Linden gets fired/traded/replaced there is all this same drama around him. It's really starting to look like he's one of those guys who cries a bunch of face saving drama....always. When he retired, he spent months telling stories about management on Dan Russel's show. I am definitely seeing him differently now.
Narratives.

It’s all crap when it’s on the ice & drafting is what counts. Front office distractions are media driven. Yes the team development thats moving along just fine & we all know it. Media cannot keep their eye on the prize. |

I do & I don’t. Seldom it is i can agree with them. On the PatCast i do find Botch pretty agreeable a lot the time. Drops f bombs which is quite hilarious. At other times on TV he is hell bent on sensationalizing too much. Patterson though is a nimrod all of the time. One thing that definitely comes through is Botch is a big fan & i like Hirsch & his honesty as well. Ferraro doesn't mince his words & I like that. I wish he was ready to be our Prez. He speaks at ppl not to ppl & that is needed here. |

Jim Carey's new movie Sonic the Hedgehog being filmed in BC. I spent many a late night playing that stupid game 20 years ago. I might just have to splurge and go see that one in the theaters . |
