I think we're going to have to wait 2 years for new jerseys to coincide with the 50th anniversary. Maybe get a 3rd next year, but I wouldn't hold my breath. - Wetbandit1
This is the 49th season according to Sabres Twitter, so next year should be the update for the big 5-0

just because they didn't play doesn't mean they ceased to exist.. its 50 years of existence but 49 years of hockey.. i think - IndianaSabresFan
They started in 1970, 50 years after 1970 is 2020. It just depends on how you count it. A person would be 50, but a hockey team is 51? Like 17:15 is the 18th minute of play in soccer.
"There' are many reasons to believe they'll make great strides this season, however it probably won't include the playoffs as they look to be a team that will end up in the 84 point range, give or take a few. Anything more than that would be a bonus."
My call is 85 points and 5th in the Atlantic and no playoffs. Pach and I must have been separated at birth.
40-34-8, 88 pts - miss playoffs by 6 pts
Eichel hits 80 pts in 81 games
Skinner 35 goals
Skunk, 30 & 30
Stinklander 15 & 20 from November on (playing with Mitts on line 2)
Mitts moved up to line two, 50 pts
Risto 50 pts
Dahlin 40 pts
Bogo plays a personal record of 12 consecutive games in a month without breaking a nail or getting a paper cut or whatever else could be wrong now
Hutton - 2.10 & .928%
Oh, and Larrson is moved for a paper mache statue of Casey Nelson
In all honesty, I seriously expect a minimum of an 18-22 point jump from last year. I mean, how can't they? Al the if's are there for all the teams at the beginning of the season. There is a lot to be optimistic about but there are a lot of new faces and it will take time for them to get to know each others tenancies. I expect a slightly rough start will be the reason why this team does not make the post season but I hope they surprise me early and often...
Game night folks - enjoy it!

If we actually get goaltending like that it’s going to be a fun year!
Edit: I know that’s basically in line with what he did last year I just don’t see it.
Melnyk already took care of that. I'm not sure the ROR deal mde us better but the depth looks a lot more solid with Berglund, Thompson, and Sobotka in the lineup. Especially when you consider the only NHL additions the Sens got for Karlsson are Tierney and a borderline top 6 in DeMelo
