Time to start the auction. I think that the Leafs have too much money tied up in future contracts for Marner, Matthews and Tavares, to add another high end contract to the forward ranks. Possibly, if Nylander wants to take a two year bridge deal, until Marleau's deal runs out, in two years, he might get his money. If not, time to put the money into a top 2 defenseman, to go with Rielly. Still need to move Gardiner. We can't win a Championship, with him on the roster.

Karlsson has been really (frank)ing bad. I don't give a flying (frank) what his plus/minus is, nor do I actually I actually know what it is. That being said, Burns has been almost as bad as Karlsson so far.

I've got Jones and Burns in my fantasy league. San Jose' games are late at night (excluding today's game) so I watch them unimpeded.

Though your point about not winning with Kessel as your best player is true, that isn’t his point.
Nobody said or believes Gardiner is our best player. Maybe our sixth best at most. His point is you can’t win with him period. That is just not likely to be true and is just a manifestation of his gardiner hate. He isn’t the only one. I’m not saying Gardiner is great, and I can see the reasons he drives some of tiunto hate, but he is a pretty good player (not great or our best but much better than a lot give home credit for), and you can win with players like him as your second or third best D.
