As a hockey fan really fun game, as a leaf fan, anymore of those and I have to buy a defibulater…

Definitely one of the greatest post game coaching rants in sports history.

I thought that Babcock quote was talking about Toews being the best leader in hockey, better in the big moments etc, not Matthews.

Montour and Pullock are both good young D men. If they can get one of them plus a good draft pick or something. They can use that at the TDL to add as well.

Any of those guys I'd be ok with. But other teams would have to add another piece for sure.

Edit: if we did a sign and trade they would likely have to add another piece. If it isn't a sign a trade I think Leafs would have to do a 1 for 1 trade unfortunately.

A fun game to watch especially in the 3rd period. 13 goals says more about the lack of goaltending and defense on both teams.

The difference is the Hawks are not expected to go to the playoffs, and the playoff window is wide open for the Leafs. Toronto would be the 1st team to win the cup giving up 5 or 6 goals a game. It just doesn't happen. Babcock knows this but he doesn't have the horses to play a tighter defensive style yet.

Quenville is continuing his feud with Bowman by playing Ward back to back and getting predictable results from a goaltender that looks about as bad as he did in Carolina. To Ward's credit he did keep the game close in the 3rd as the Hawks were a turnover machine, only to lose on a stoppable shot in OT.
Kane and Matthews had their own little trash talk on successive goals that got Quenville laughing.

Didn't he score like 4 goals in his very first game against the Sens? I guess hes off to a slower start then usual. The inevitable 5-10 game disappearing act is on its way. Or an injury of some sort. You know, the usual excuses for him not even hitting 70 points in his career but hes the best ever and commands more money than McD.

How come Sandin hasn't played with any of the clubs he's eligible to play with yet? Hasn't played with the Marlies, Rogle or The Soo.

We all know Matthews and McDavid are great. While McDavid has phenomenal speed, Matthews just has better rounded and more complete game.
