Nilsson is playing well at the moment, but as you mentioned he doesn't have a strong record of sustaining that level of play. I personally like his style when he plays the way he has, but man when he falls off his game, he really falls off.

I am not a big fan of Markstrom so I'm really hoping Nilsson builds his confidence with these early wins and continues to play well.

Another issue with both goalies confidence must be the defensive breakdowns that seem to expose the lack of a quality defensemen on the team. They look good now, but how long before they are brought back to earth.

agreed on all points.

for most goals, there is one or more "error" before the shot even gets on net. unfortunately, the missed save is the easiest to pick out as its can be the most glaring.

The last time this team won 4 road games in a row was 2010/11, in fact they did it twice that year.

Hopefully Nilsson can buck the trend and stay on track until the trade deadline. Maybe if he has a good season other teams will forget about his inconsistent past and take a chance on him as an insurance policy. It would be nice to get a mid-range draft pick or even a prospect along the lines of Motte for him.

Also need to get MDZ back in the lineup and playing well at some point, and convince Edler to waive his NTC.

As an underperforming forward with arbitration rights, Granlund is basically like a UFA as well. Have they been developing his defensive role so he's viewed as a useful rental acquisition down the road?

How true, this is something that always has me scratching my head, one of the reasons I was more critical of Stecher and Hutton last year. But our two goalies are really not that good.

So far this season the defense has looked good. Can we attribute that to an improved system and recognition that their individual play needed to improve....or that Tampa, Pittsburg and Florida thought they had an easy win in front of them and took the match up lightly?

I had no idea it has been that long.

I hope you are making pizza galore tonight, and stepping up any other ritual you partake in.

I pretty much agree on all you posted, although if Nilsson does buck the trend and stay on track, well I can see Benning keeping him thinking playoffs being a possibility.

Del Zotto needs back in at some time, but I certainly understand Green's reluctance to change up the backend when they are playing so well...maybe tonight will be a sh!t the bed night for the defense.

Grandlund has actually been playing well in his role, I like the 4th line, I like how they press the play, antagonize in the offensive zone and create turn overs.

We are healthy for one thing. We had a good start last year and then we flame out around December with injuries. Also a goalie stopping pucks goes a long way to making everyone look better.

Nilsson wasn't the same after the birth of his baby. Hopefully he will be more settled and do well all year, unless he has another! I really thought Markstrom would be good and perhaps with a real goalie coach he can turn it around. Less Cloutier more Clarke

our best player is out though. Our "top defensive center" is also out. Its only a matter of time before LE gets hurt too, or Tanev (not wishing for this), but if history likes to repeat itself, like it normally does, I expect injuries start to pile as we get into November. Having said that, they have to play Nilsson, he is seeing the puck well.

Nilsson looks square to the puck all the time, in good position making himself big instead of small, nice change in goalie coaches it appears.

I think Laine's comments were hilarious , but I do hope the Canucks win and Bo skates over to him and reminds him that if they are as bad as us they would quit Fortnite too. Skate by and say It's Time

You Milk Nilsson as long as you can. Hopefully Marky get that message. Because we know this little Nilsson run won't last.

I'm fully expecting 8 starters out by at least the end of January which is typically the norm here.

8-2 Jets.
