Leafs face losing Gardiner to sign their big 3 RFA’s. I don’t see that being a probkem for us in the next 3-5yrs or longer. Only thing i can add is if we do have cap problems we are doung awfully damn well & idk who wouldn’t love that problem 😂😂

On a side bar current contracts can be moved or bought out if needed.

The team has 25 million committed to basically 6 role players for the next 3 years.

In that same time frame you're gonna find yourself walking with a 12 million dollar Elias and hefty raises on all the players making scraps right now. 2021 could be a legit cap crunch for this team if things stay relatively linear.

Jimbo better hope for a big camp jump and someone willing to take those contracts off his hands for cheap.

Sutter is probably playing his last year here. By the time QuinnHughes is ready for a new contract Beagle and Roussel will be ending theirs. Other than Pettersson who is due for a healthy raise in the 10 mil range? I would say no one .

Everyone actually made out pretty damn good.

Us being more LHD dominant i wonder when Hughes said RHD is not a problem for him if he can play RHD in the NHL? If he can & it’s sooner than later that would be a huge bonus. The more options we have the better & with Gardiner a UFA soon his offense would help us as long as his partner has his back.

Everyone got a franchise type of player, Edmonton lucked into another generational talent but Eichel, Dahlin, Pettersson and Keller are great young players.

The entire point of a statistic is to remove the variability that occurs in small samples. It doesn’t matter if Sutter plays with Boeser one game and Gaunce another. Over a large enough sample the variation smooths and you can draw more significant conclusions.

I’m not “for” or “against” stats, they are what they are. It’s easy to misrepresent data with bad statistics, but if done correctly they can tell an accurate story and are a good predictor of future outcomes.

Also, I freaking can’t stand the term “Advanced Stats”. Bunch of BS. Some of the measures are more complicated to calculate than others but the term advanced makes them sound like they are better in some way.

Finally, for you eye test crowd, unless you are going to the games you are full of poop. You can’t see enough of the playing surface to get the full picture of the play unless the player you are interested in has the puck, or all 10 guys are fighting for the puck, like they do in Atom hockey.

👏👏👏 the only ones that should use video to evaluate players are team officials, one of the reasons I absolutely hate the camera angles on televised games. Always the same in every rink, want to sell the game better...get creative. The camera on the PP behind the net is awesome, but little used, you can see player deployment off the puck and on.
