Does Teravainen actually change much though? Aside from the fact that he's actually playing and Nylander isn't, you're still getting a pending RFA coming off of a 64 point season that's going to command ~$7 Million per year. - BINGO!
Teravainen would be similar in terms of production. Hopefully, he won't ask for Nylander type money. |

Perhaps they just want to see some good hockey for a change? |

Nylander for Hamilton or GTFO. - Unholy_Goalie
Here's the thing though, if a potential deal with Carolina only involved Nylander. Why would Carolina scouts and reps be at the last 5 Leaf home games? |

Leafs will just keep on trading the pending RFAs.
So'll they take Teravainen this year, then trade him for Mantha year after, then trade Mantha for Vilardi, etc. etc. |

I feel:
- Matthews will take 11
- Marner will take 8
- Willie will take it in the ass and sit out. or the offer of 6.2 - bixll
If Marner keeps playing with Tavares and keeps leading the team in points, 8 would be great for the Leafs but not for him. Marner keeps increasing his value year by year and is showing he can be just as valuable as Matthews. He doesn't score goals the same way but his assists create just as much offense and his defense, which was always very good, is also improving every game. |

Why would two players with similar production be looking for significantly different paycheques?
TT is good and he can play all three forward positions. |

Because they probably think Hamilton is worth more than Nylander and are scouting the extra piece or two to make the deal fair.
That being said, if they want Brown or Johnsson or any other spare part to make the deal happen, so be it. No problem. |

It's basically the same thing it's just one team can actually score goals. |

Deal. I would be all over that, like chipotle sauce on underwear. |

I'd be stunned if they even considered trading Hamilton. Dundon wants recognizable names. Stars. Dougie is one of the very very few they have. |

If Nylander is the guy they're getting in return, their star power is restored. Plus, Nylander is a pretty boy. Female attendance will skyrocket. |

That and he's terribly slow and out of place in the way the game is played now. |
