was taken by a couple of things...first off, am pretty sure players do that all the time...in fact i'll bet stuff like that is pretty commonplace at work in general...

second, they were talking about the penalty kill...it matters to them

1 or 2, they didn't even penalize him properly. Should've been a major for interference, he never had the puck, wasn't eligible to be hit, so why would he be looking for a hit? And then punching a player in the head who's down like that is an easy match penalty. If they want poop like that to stop they can't just call that a roughing minor. And they missed an easy slash before the hit too.

He did also get a minor for interference, but that's reserved for sticking out your hip to stop a forward from getting to the puck, or hitting a guy a skosh late. I'm not even sure the kid touched the puck, if he did he certainly never had possession, he just kind of waved his stick at it to try and (frank) up the defenseman's pass. It doesn't matter if the player is injured either, you can still assess a major. If they are injured then you get a game misconduct.
