Price is usually terrible when playing in Vancouver. That's why I was giving the benefit of doubt when predicting a 5-0 victory for Montreal.

Will go 6-1 Habs.

In front of the 12,000 red Habs jerseys in the stands.

Pettersson is dead-cold right now so maybe Stecher scores?

I think I pick him every game to score. With all the PP time he gets, eventually he has to score...you would think.

"#Canucks #Comets #Juolevi has risen to -12 tops on team. For those comparing him to former Nucks Dan Hamhuis, think again. Hamhuis was a physical player, & always played that way against his opponents. Juolevi is very soft, haven’t seen him engage, or ride anyone out. @botchford"

Who gives a f*ck what botchford says anyway. Im no pom pom waver, but the comets are bottom 5 in the entire AHL, and Juolevi in his first pro season is leading the rookie blue liners in points. Botch is a piece of stool

I think everyone, including the Canucks, needs to accept him for what he is, an offensive minded player who transitions the puck quickly to the forwards. He'll never be a physical player.

Probably not the best pick at #5 but you can't get em all right I guess. ISS had him ranked at 11, the hockey writers at 12, the hockey news 6, TSN Bob McKenzie had him at 6. He had a great world juniors and Benning fell in love with him there, probably made his mind up then.

Philadelphia vs Tampa is on Sportsnet Pacific in a few minutes if anyone wants to watch some of the best players in the game

This is where selecting based on need got in the way of selecting the best player available. The Canucks badly needed depth on D and took the highest rated player at that position. Maybe he was the highest rated player on the Canucks board, but I can't help but think positional need played a part.

I'm not privy to their process but Tkachuk was ranked higher on every list out there so maybe you're right?

Vilardi was ranked higher than Petterson on every board as well. Benning 😡

It's not on Benning, per say, they still got a great prospect. Juolevi could still very well be a very good nhler, he's only 20. Like I said, it's impossible to get them all right and Juolevi was the highest ranked defenceman.

I just don't think he's this drafting genius people make him out to be, like most GM's, he's been wrong as much as he's been right on first rounders.

Jim and his staff got the Canucks to near the top of the farm system charts with half as many picks as the Flyers. So shut it Lefty.

As long as they always draft their BPA (at the top of the draft) that’s all I ask. If they chose Juolevi because of positional needs then that was clearly a huge mistake. Guess we will never now.
