I think Hexy may have put us in a bad position by not compromising. It looks like we are now moving back to Homers philosophy, and it won't be long before we are wishing Hexy was back. All we need is a goalie, give that time before we move any other core players not named Jake, Wayne, Scott, Radko, and Andrew.
These guys give me the feeling they will make moves just to make moves... |

At this point, I'm kind of leaning toward a new HC/GM - and selling at this deadline, or to be more specific, not making move to get a fart at the playoffs.
How did it come to all this? Jesus Christ. - flyer_nutter
The good ol’ boy club... go see my comments from around the time they promoted hextall. |

It's completely foolish in my opinion. We give up an equal player to Drasaitl, add in Frost and Sanheim and then take Lucic off their hands to facilitate?
This team goes nowhere if they don't build up a strong two way puck moving group of defenseman. Sanheim is absolutely key to that. - MJL
I don't think that is accurate. One is 29 and the other is 23. Maybe paid the same but I wouldn't say equal. Age does matter.

It's not one way or the other. If we were going back to Homer's way he'd be hiring from within the organization and running things behind the scenes. |

Not interested. Draisatl is a very good player but he's not going to change the culture/dynamic of this team nor be the defensive/leadership force that locks down a lead late in games. - BiggE
So if making a move you would rather spend on the back end? Like go big for Trouba, go really big for Petriangelo?
Like that type.

You stay quiet Hextall.
And I don't think it's as foolish as you want to believe. - J35Bacher
Maybe, but either you are seriously over rating Draisaitl or we need more back than just the corpse of Milan Lucic.

Again maybe, but adding in Sanheim AND Frost makes it a vast overpayment. Adding in Lucic is almost like punishment. |

I guess i just see things differently.
i know Lucic is on the back end of his deal but i feel the rest of his deal is probably about what you would be paying Simmonds if you resigned him. Maybe you get Edmonton to retain money.

So let's summarize last nights debacle.
Blow a 2 goal third period lead with 8 minutes left in the game, and not even come away with a loser point.
This against a team going into the game who was 16th in the conference, playing on the second night of a back to back with their backup goaltender.
Flyers now sit 16th in the conference. Absolutely disgusting how bad this team is. |

Yeah, if it's going to be a big move, give a me a top pair Dman that can play in all situations, especially late in games protecting a lead.

I don't understand why you play Dale Wiese and Jordan Weal 15:30 and 14:48 at even strength while you play Oskar Lindblom and Scott Laughton 5:18 and 5:58 at even strength.
I understand they may have been a part of the fourth line but both players are defensively responsible and Laughton already had two assists. Unless they were hurt they should have been out there more. |

Lombardi and Quenneville out there... we’ll probably get Burke and Lappierre. - JoeRussomanno
Burke literally just stated right now on Toronto radio he wants no part of the Philly job, even though " Homer is a dear friend". Burke is happy just doing TV ! So that's a relief

Weal should never see the ice again in orange and black. He’s soft and takes dumb penalties. If we are going to suck this bad we may as well give Vorobyev another look or literally anyone else from the AHL. Or give it to Laughton who shows up every game |

Skate down the boards, hit the breaks, turn up the boards, get pushed off the puck, puck leaves the zone, Weal goes for line change.

So here is my tale of woe last night. A STH friend gave me free tickets for last night's game. Since my birthday is Friday I was actually excited to get a chance to go. I asked my husband to drive cuz I had the pleasure of driving in bumper to bumper traffic for over 3.5 hours on Thanksgiving. We get almost to Philly (fairly stop and go) when my husband begins cussing. His clutch had begun to act up. And then begins catching almost at the floor. He wasn't sure if we'd make it home. So after a discussion we decide to turn around and get as close to home before his clutch failed. I got to waive at the stadium before we turned around (I didn't get my hat - sigh). We did make it back to a mechanic near home (although getting it into any low gear was painful). And then I called a friend to give us a ride back to our house. We missed the first period completely - we had the radio off so we could hear the engine - but I was able to catch the 2nd and that miserable 3rd period tucked under an electric blanket with a nice warm dog for comfort.
They normally lose when my husband goes to a game. So we laughed that maybe they'd actually win this one. Nope. Apparently his intention to go was enough. |

Of course age matters. That would benefit the Flyers to trade Drasaitl for Voracek. That's not what you proposed. |

I can't stand Weise, and the contract given to him was nothing short of negligence, but he's actually been one of their best players for the last few weeks. He's played well. Of course saying he's been one of their best players is like being the tallest midget. |
