sabres really need to get that second and third line going
and Lockport Larry needs to stop taking dumb penalties, as does captain Jack |

That "playoff-like atmosphere" was echoed throughout the post-game interviews including Lightning head coach Jon Cooper who told the local media, "I'm pretty sure if you were a fan of hockey and your were in the building, you would have enjoyed this one."
This is what we have been waiting for... win or lose, these guys are fun to watch! |

the 37-line looked real good last night, got a goal and spent a ton of time in the tampa zone...that 17-line struggled with a slowly disappearing 29 and missing sheary…
fourth line looked real good as always, save for Larsson's penalties

Agreed.
We're a top 6 forward and top 4 dman away from being even more competitive.
The need for speed was apparent to me last night. |

Hopefully the top 4 Dman is in the lineup tonight |

They were the better team last night. Remember they had their back up goalie in. We showed a lot of fight but also made many many sloppy passes. It's a learning curve for us and hope we get better from it. Is is just so nice to have a game in December that has meaning to it. |

for as much as I like captain jack's 200' game and his set-up acumen, i'd really like to see him score more |

Honestly with the start Tampa got I thought we were going to get our ass handed to us. We stuck in there, and I'm still impressed! |

Agree as well. Also good to see Samson get some goals. |

Idk, it would be kind of funny to see him finish with 15g 75a

The game really could have been a blowout and it is rather surprising that we actually had a lead late. I hate to say it but Dahlin played his worst game of the year last night. In other games he had bad starts but then turned it around - last night it never happened. I like the fact that Housley keeps rolling him out there and he keeps being himself. |

For this to happen I think someone else would have to carry the puck more. |

IMO Dahlin is allowed to have a bunch of free passes this year on his play. He is 18 that poop is gonna happen. Also the whole entire team looked tight and scared at the start of the game.. But we hung in there that is all that matters, even though it was a loss and they played poopity for large stretches, they had a late lead. that is a confidence booster for this team...

I agree with all of that - that's why I am glad that they let him do his thing.
Also.... seeing 23 out there on the 4 vs. 4 was painful. He can't carry the puck in those situations and Tampa knew it. They really did abuse hime.

he has 30 goals in the last 14 months
same as a skunk
all jokes aside, he was trying to do it all last night, and he doesn't need to |

This
Instead of making the easy smart pass he tried to do too much.
You cannot do that against a team like Tampa.
Eichel took Skinner out of the game himself but it was just 1 game.

if you removed 4-5 players from the big club, waivers/trades and bring 4 or 5 up from rochester
the product on the ice will be much better IMO |

I agree Jack sometimes gets it in is head that he has to do it all, that poop needs to stop, use your line mates. However as long as he is dishing out the assists I'm happy. The goals will come boys the goals will come...
