Time and space is in short supply at the NHL level, hopefully he's a quick study and can utilize his teammates to be most effective with the Canucks.

When it comes to time and space... I'm not worried about QH. Needs to clean up the blind passing to vacant area etc but that will come with experience. There's no doubt he has the IQ to adjust. He has speed other players would kill for. He's going to a team with giant holes on D... so he's get the ice time needed to be a quick study I hope.

Your post is dumb. It had nothing to do with what I posted.

I get it, but a young immensely talented dman who tries to do too much by himself at times isn't a major red flag for me. As long as the kid is coachable, you can easily mold him into a fantastic player.

Plus I've been impressed with his defensive effort and willingness to fight for the puck, that's a sign of a competitive kid who just wants to win, not a selfish player like Ryan Merkley. He also dropped the gloves after a hit on a teammate.

if he lacked talent, effort or hockey sense then I'd be more concerned. But he's just fine in all 3 of those areas.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the games he missed because of that body slam. Thanks for keeping me honest Nucker!

I have zero concerns about Quinn. He looked solid in the Worlds as well. The reason he holds the puck and circles the zone so often is because he can at this level. Bright kid that will adapt at the next stage

Nolan Patrick (#2 pick) has only 3 pts more than EP and has played 106 games overall. Considering most of us wanted Cody Glass at 5th, watching Cody playing in the WJ and not really dominate his peers really drives home what an astute pick Benning made.

I was pro Glass before the draft just because his 5vs5 points (62 of his 94) were ridiculously high. My mind changed after 2 months into EP40's SHL season.

I saw the little scrap, love that his compete levels are high. Might need some time in the AHL to figure things out but Benning and Green will probably allow him to learn at the NHL level because of his talent level.

Love to see him play live.

My boss just gave me tickets to the game here in Calgary tomorrow I am super excited to see Peterson live. The kid is magic to watch I am a firm believer that he has bumped the rebuild by a bit and we are looking like we are on our way. He is both elite and generational as he does amazing things in spite of concern over his size. I believe he along with Boeser, Horvat, Hughes and maybe a diamond in the rough draft(Madden, Gaudette maybe) are going to create a very dynamic exciting team to watch. It's a nice change from the slow plodding team we have had to watch the last few years. There I used elite and generational and thats my narrative. Boom got all three in a post

Obviously it's extremely unlikely and anyone holding their breath is asking for it, but imagine the hype in this city if both of them were added to this current roster next training camp

Did anyone hear the interview with Hitch on 1040 earlier this season while he was without a coaching job? Never heard of EP before the season started. Hadnt had a chance to see him play yet. Hadnt seen highlites. Only heard about him from Van media kind of thing...

Know who he is yet, Hcock?

- boonerbuck

He also said the difference between being bad and being decent was very small, and he could see the Canucks challenging for a playoff spot this season. Went on to say the jump from good to great was significant.

Elias Pettersson won't allow the Canucks to be a bottom team, he's just too good, he's carrying this team. If he can keep this up I'd say they finish just out of the playoffs.

We haven't seen the likes of this type of player since Pavel Bure. By type I mean extremely talented. Bure was imho a generational talent, to this day he is 4th or 5th in NHL history in terms of goals per game, post 67 expansion only Mario Lemieux and Mike Bossy have a higher average than him.

Generational talent is a much overused term, they come around very rarely and usually change the game in some form, Gordie Howe, Bobby Orr, Bobby Clarke, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Mike Bossy, Pavel Bure, Crosby, Ovechkin, McDavid.
