To Philadelphia: Jeremy Bracco, Mason Marchment, conditional 3rd rounder(could turn to a 1st if they make the Stanley cup finals)
To Toronto: Wayne Simmonds
Too much from Toronto? Too little?
I think if you get Boston and Toronto bidding you can get a little more as they will most likely face off in the playoffs.

Kapanen may become available and if he does SIGN ME UP! - dragonoffrost
I would do a deal revolving around Simmonds and Gudas with Kapanen as a portion of the return. |

Too little in my opinion. With a cursory knowledge of those players. |

Toronto would not make that trade.
Why would the Flyers trade a first round pick for a 36 year old player? (Duncan Keith) - MJL
Because Ducan Keith can keep the puck out of the net and teach the kids coming up (and already here) how to do so.
He's not that expensive and sign forever (a few more years) |

How does that really help Toronto? - Glak18
Makes Toronto tougher and clears cap space needed to sign other stars like Matthews in the near future. |

He's 36 years old. The Flyers wouldn't give up a first round pick for a player of that age. You didn't address the cost. |

What if you could add Hagg to the Flyers side and get back Zeitzev? Signed long term at 4.5 but I think he has fallen out of favor there and isn't getting any PP time and that was the reason he was brought over was for his offense and skating.
Everything I read and hear from Toronto and Babcock is he wants more heavyness in their roster. |

What are they going to do with Simmonds who also needs a new contract? If they let Simmonds walk then they essentially traded Nylander to rent Simmonds for a playoff run. Why would they do that? |

I would assume Simmonds wants 7 years....and although I love what he has brought to the team, I can't see even a five year term. If the Flyers do go beyond 4-5 term, it will be a contract they may come to regret. - landros 2
Well after JVR contract I can understand Simmer.
6 years is the minimum he will ask for |

Yep if I'm Simmer I'm going to all teams and wanting JvR's deal at minimum. So ask for more term and more cash to start then work down towards JvR's deal |

I think Toronto would want Simmonds to make a run this year, which means not parting with Kapanen this season as they would want to keep him and load up. If he gets traded, it will likely be this offseason.
If that does happen, I'm all in, but it will be costly. |

I have to believe that all Simmer would net us would be a draft pick(s). He is UFA so no way we get NHL player/prospect in return.
Vorachek on the other hand, is signed for a few more years at a decent cap hit. He could be moved for a few NHL players and/or top prospects. He is a complimentary player and his $8.25 hit produces around 20 goals and 60 or so assists each year.
I believe that Patrick's continued development has a lot to do with Fletcher's upcoming moves. If he thinks he has a bonafide #1 center in Patty, I doubt he addresses it through a trade. Or, if he feels Patty is perfect for the #2C role as the pivot for Vorachek and Lindblom, we may see Jake stay around. The only wrench being the actual return for Jake. If it is too good to pass up you make the trade.
We have picks and prospects in the system already. Unless we are getting proven NHL talent to fill needs in return, we stick to unloading expiring contracts.
Good luck moving Weise and/or Lehtera. Folin and Amac, maybe, but why would Gudas be mentioned unless people are already balking at Amac or Folin. |

Gudas is mentioned because he would be a chip teams want. Could bring back a return of more than people think.

Agreed.
Plus, if Keith were some great mentor, why wouldn't the Hawks keep him around for themselves.
The Hawks are as bad as the Flyers this year, if not worse. |

100% agree on Gudas. My point was, I'm sure we offer up AMac or Folin to teams looking for d depth and they ask about Gudas after the "hard pass" on those two.
Was Jake ever mentioned as a possible trade chip by anyone outside of this forum? I'm not sure but I would be intrigued to see what he could bring us in return. |

Weise, Lehter, Frolin are definitely movable. Any team looking for depth players to make a playoff run would take these guys on just to make sure some random AHLer isnt playing if the team sustains a few injuries. I'm sure some team never thought they would be able to trade Johnny Oduya, yet we picked him up last season just as a "in case" scenario. |

Rick Nash brought a combo of players/picks back at the TDL last year. We got Filppula back when we traded Streit.
It's not common, but it does happen. It won't be a showstopper (i.e. Kapanen) unless we kick is substantially more, but it does happen. |

Can I propose yet another trade?
I wonder what it would take to get Duncan Keith from Chicago.
Flyers fans would have to understand that he would be a calming factor on their young D but not a D1 who we expect 50 points from.
Would you move a first round pick for Keith? I think I would. Perhaps dump Weise there?
Thoughts? - flyersfaninLA
he's 35 with 4 more years left. that makes me leery |

Some guy on who they talk with on NHL radio has mentioned it. I only remember part of his name being Dave F. He was in the Bahama's when they talked to him and he was mentioning Voracek. |

My guess is the latter. I love the guy, as I'm sure most people that post here do, but would rather not have him being paid 6-7M until he's 36. |
