Since they only started the rebuild 2 years ago, I'm going to guess 3 or 4 more years until they are going deep playoffs if all goes well.
- Marwood

So Jake and OJ are not part of the rebuild because I am sure we drafted them with the 5 th and 6 th overall 3 and 4 years ago. Bo never part of the rebuild? Drafted at 9 th?

Not every single player has to be drafted after announcing a rebuild in order for them to count

So if Jake and OJ aren't part of the rebuild why does a rebuilding team care about players being moved that aren't part of the rebuild?

No there were not part of the rebuild when they were drafted. The Canucks still had the Sedins and were preaching 'competitive' hockey.

Hopefully we're right in the race next year possibly making it, after that we start to build for eventual cup competition, as you said, 3-4 years from now
- NorthNuck

It will interesting to see! Never know until the rubber hits the road, didnt take Chicago 3-4 years and i think some groups are special. I think EP is. Hard to say with the rest, playoffs really is a “we’ll see” kind of thing. I could see JV And Bo being very good PO guys though.

Did you just come up with a weird BS argument and then claim we were trying to convince you of it instead of the other way around?

I don't know, go ask management, ask them why they were trying to make the playoffs every year before the Sedins retired, ask them why they signed Eriksson to a 6 year contract if they were rebuilding, ask them why Linden and Benning gave 2 different answers to the same question on the same day.

It's all part of JB's plan, so many have failed to see the plan since the start.

I think believing in the young core is positive, but thinking this is a playoff team is rosy glasses. EP is generational, if Quinn is that good we immediately become a bit scary in a playoff series imo.

Nobody is suggesting you give him away for free, or for Goldobin.

The original comment was if the right deal came along I would take it. I suggested last night Jake for Fabro . I said I would jump at that.

For the record someone on SN650 suggested the very same proposal today and both Satiar Shah and the other guy said they would absolutely take that. Only the experts here think Jake is untouchable.

- VANTEL

Oh him, you're right, that guy is an expert, I would never disagree with.... the other guy.

Come on man, you're better then this.

Nice little article on NCAA guys, Hirose and Sturm both sound like guys who could potentially make the show/could look into.

Virtanen is young and has improved and with his best year ever he is one point behind Brody Tkachuck who has played 12 less games. I guess I have a different opinion of how a power forward plays.

For the record it will be a cold day in hell before I listen to Prez for any hockey advice.

- VANTEL

That's what this bitter cold snap is, you heeding my advice.

For the record, I've never lost a hockeybuzz hockey bet which is more then I can say for most on here.

Do the math in regards to what an average top 6 player brings, 6 per team, 31 teams.

31 x 6 = 186 top 6 players in the nhl.

Go to last year's stats and look at what the players ranked in either goals or points scored, between players 93 and 186.

Ranked by points, 2nd line players scored between 51 and 33 points

Ranked by goals, 2nd line players scored between 22 and 14 goals

Those are the actual points/ goals scored by the players ranked in 93 to 186 spots, you know the second lines.

Jake , by those numbers, is capable of being an average 2nd liner and should be an above average 2nd liner on his prime.

I don’t think they ever even said rebuild until this past summer.

It is difficult being patient and talking Canuck hockey everyday.

I want to see stuff fixed, or addressed and it all takes time.

Hopefully Woo isn't too far away from contributing. And a winger from Utica can get their stuff together, Lind, Dahlen, and slot into our top 6.

alot of holes in the lineup.

I caught him in Victoria this year, I really think he looks confident and could turn heads in camp next year. He'll be pushing the other kids for a spot I think. Hopefully next year our depth d is young guys ready to step in and grow, it will be much easier than Pou and Biega. If they let Edler walk, I think Woo has a very legit shot. But ya, it does all take time!
