Nicely put sir.
I think the loss of Mittelstadt is underrated with him being out of the lineup. |

I think the sabres playoff hopes ended last night
the climax of their demise was okposo trying to do whatever it is with his attempt to fight
housely looked like a man who realized he was losing his job |

I don't
I thought E-Rod played fine, and Phil was going to keep Sobotka on the third line anyhow

I wasn’t excited for housley to take the job, but at the time I was ready to give him the benefit of the doubt because of the way Nashville played defense.
At this point I’ve lost most of my hope for him to turn it around.
We need a coach that can control a team and produce some consistency.
I wouldn’t hate to keep Phil on as D coach but we need some sort of discipline in the room and phil certainly isn’t going to provide that.

No, but he seemed to be a good defense coach but who knows how much of that was the personnel he was given to work with.
I just think he’s a little over his head at the head coach position.

after the win streak, when the sabres started to lose
I view it like watching million dollar baby after her fight
you hoped she would get better
you hoped the sabres would make the playoffs
but every passing day, you know the outcome, and your watching it slip away

I absolutely hate seeing certain guys on the ice. Scandella, Okposo, and Girgensons top my list. Gus had a breakaway and cleared the puck into the corner to start the cycle or something. Scandella makes more passes to the opposing team than our own. It's not fun to watch at all. Then Eichel and Skinner come out with their butts on fire to try and make SOMETHING happen because the rest of them aren't doing anything. They need some help for sure. |

Who do you think would be a good replacement for the team we have/seem to be building? |

The fire Housley talk is as premature as it is unnecessary. This team is right where most predicted and on most nights is entertaining. As a season ticket holder, I am happy with their progress. The players not following the game plan is a sign of an immature team learning to come into their own. We can try adding some 2nd level additions like Nikolay Goldobin from Vancouver or Andrei Burakovsky from Washington. The real work is in the next off season and then Housley can be judged as a coach |

Ya know what was a really bad trade ? The ROR trade. Unnecessary, dumb, and the Blues fleeced us. Berglund is gone (and sucked). Sobotka would have been a decent pickup - like 6 years ago. Thompson is a project. # 1 pick is a crap-shoot. Meanwhile, O'Reilly is still super and doing it all in St Louis. I realize he's not coming back - I get it. But that trade ruined this season. So sick of trades made to change culture. Who gives a crap about culture. I prefer good/great players.
ROR trade gets an F- from me.
On a more positive note, followed by a negative note - we'll win the next game (but lose the following one - can't win back to back games). |

140 games later
how is Housley a better coach?
not better record, because the talent is better
how is he a better head coach?
what is he doing better now vs 100 games ago? |

It's just a reflex here. Coaching is always the easiest thing to blame.
