Agree to disagree, until Karlsson signs elsewhere, I've got him penciled in above tanev in the depth chart.

I think they will take a run at a big signing I don't know who though

I believe the Islanders PP is at 16.2%? Their PK is at 80%, they defend well but the don’t have that skill factor to have a 29% PP like Tampa.

Pittsburgh 25%
Boston 26%
Washington 22%
Toronto 22%

- LeftCoaster

Yeah I looked at the stats before commenting.
Where would our PP be without a Petey? That’s what NYI were faced with when they lost Tavares.

Skill is everything but a better PP setup would help increase our 15% PP success rate.

While I absolutely looooove Panarin, I think going after Karlsson would behoove this team as we're much weaker on the backend.

I’m curious to see how it looks next season even if JB does squat about it.

It would be hard to sell tickets if the only upgrade is Hughes.

I like him, I don't think he really gets mentioned as an elite dman, I'd say he's in that next tier or 2. He can play shutdown minutes and give you 30-40 points if he gets PP time, that's pretty damn good.

I know a couple of Jets fans, they don't like Myers at all lol and they like Morrissey just as much as Trouba which I found surprising so I guess they agree that Trouba is a bit overrated and Morrissey is underrated.

Id love a trouba OS. Physical, booming shot, rhd, logs big minutes. Exactly what we need really.

Dude, why are we're even talking about this, the only thing more established then the top notch quality of our coaching staff, is the fact that the cap won't be a problem for the next 3.5 years.

So, not only will we have no trouble resigning petty and brock, we'll also have space to sign both Panarin and Karlsson to 10m plus contracts without issue.

Leave the coaching staff be, as soon as we weaponize our cap we can sign Panarin, Karlsson, Myers, duchenne, and throw an 11m offer sheet at Laine. Then you'll see what the best coaching staff will do.

#playoffs: love:

Could have said that at the beginning of this year with Petey or last season with Brock.
What if Hughes has a similar impact? Would that not be sweet?

Positive vibrations.

Goldy is a curious player. He has been getting some good looks lately. If he ever figures out how to finish the play he might grab a spot.

Two trades and a signing can change this team.

JB trades or signings worry me. Draft, draft, draft or hire better pro talent assessors and trade negotiators.

Fixed. You were borderline obsessive
- Codes1087

Nah. I was just a fan that wanted to see the Canucks finally have a physical edge on teams after so many years of being a ragdoll. I put too much stock in Gudbranson's ability to bring that, and hope that they don't revert back to being submissive.

Make all the edits you want though. Maybe use a red pen next time.

Tyler Myers and Tryamkin
- VanHockeyGuy

Tryamkin, yes. Myers has an injury history, which the Canucks don't really need to invest in. This team has had enough half season contributors to last a lifetime.

Schenn seems to bring the same edge.

You can't use those as examples, those were all the assets we had (excluding Loui).

I said it at the start of the year: next year we can have a real conversation about the canucks being a playoff threat. Even more convinced now that EP has been this good.

I agree wholeheartedly. He brings it much more consistently, and at a fraction of the cost. As well, his positioning and ability to make a stress-free simple first pass is welcome.

Not sure why Green is sitting him today, seeing as how Vegas has some big boys who like to crash the net.
