Poor Kev. I still think it doesn’t get talked about enough just how deep Boston’s defense is. Miller-Gryz has got to be the best third pair in the league. No weak spots back there. Even John Moore has been an A+ #7. The term is still weird but he’s earned every penny of his salary this year.
Toronto May have the forward depth but they can’t touch Boston’s defense |

Millers played well, his defensive game has grown the last couple of years, that said, his style is less needed once the playoff start. I like him but havnet missed him.
Canes are really gonna wear whalers jerseys? Guess that all but guarantees a win for Boston. |

The Hurricanes wearing Whaler jerseys just isn't right.
I could see them wearing a Whaler patch but not the whole uniform. |

It is messed up that they are playing with retired numbers... Jack called them out already this season for wearing #19 and they still continue to use a retired number..
Pure cash grab. But Carolina has to do this stuff to garner any sort of attention. |

Oh (frank) off. #19 was only retired to appease ex-Bruins fans in New England anyway.
The (frank)ing guy they retired it for never played a single NHL game for the Whalers. He played 3 seasons for them in the WHA.
They Unretired #2, #19 and #9 (Though #9 has never been worn and is sort of Unofficially retired). |

so there is an ex-NHL executive that lives in my neck of the woods and he skates with us sometimes and today was one of those times.
shooting the poop in the locker room and when we asked him he said he'd trade Donato for Coyle every day of the week.

Interesting. I've been back and forth on it myself. Typically when a Boston team or media has negative commentary after shipping a player out it's hyperbole. it seems like in this case they really did not care Donato's attitude. |

Not saying this isnt the truth, but there always seems to be some side story every time a young player leaves Boston. The level of drama from "executives" surrounding these young players boarders on pitiful.
He got traded. We got a player back. End story. |

right but a guy who was one of the most respected scouts,VP of Scouting, VP of Hockey ops and a Special Advisor the GM...he was all of those, in the NHL for the past 35 years, said it was a good trade for the Bruins. never worked for them and even though he's local around here doesn't root for them. he was totally in favor of the trade.

Donato proved he couldnt crack the roster. Last year with 9 points in 12 games got us all excited. Good trade. Have 6 other players just like him fighting for bottom 6 pairings. |

Agreed! Unfortunately its not unique to the Bruins. The Red Sox wrote the book on this poop. |

If you are going to embrace your franchises history you should probably do it right. If your going to pay homage to the previous part of the franchise how do you not honor those retired numbers?
I understand the Hurricanes un-retiring the number but you are wearing the Whalers sweater.... I also understand that you are the lone actual Carolina fan so it is your job to defend the non-sense.
Plus the WHA Whalers were a bright spot in the otherwise lackluster history of the Hurricanes/Whalers. |

I actually had to google retired numbers for the Whale, cause I couldnt believe they had any.
Glen Wesley... lol.. a guy more famous for missing a net than scoring any goal. |
