Kampf is already on the roster. Time to move on from Kruger. - Elbows15
Would you bring back Kruger at a lower cap hit? How low would it need to go? |

Nah. I suspect he will be playing in Europe next season. |

Let's face it: John Hayden is not good. Poor stick handling, poor passing, no finish. In the off season he should be a piece of any and all trades that Bowman can pull off. This also includes Kruger (useless) and Crawford (should retire for his own health sake, plus he's not good anymore, never was that great - it was always the defense in front of him). |

Someone suggested to wait until end of summer and then offer him a one year low offer. I am thinking they might go as low as $1 mill.
I would not be surprised if Kruger accepts. Chicago is where he has played and been happy. I suggest that Kruger asks for an oral agreement that he continues in his role here and Bowman will say, as long as you are playing well....but if we want to give the job to someone else...we will try to accommodate you with a trade or you will play less here. |

Every time Crow let's in a soft goal the new mantra will be "He must be suffering from concussion issues" or "He does not look right at all". There were plenty of nights in the last 5 years where Crow let in soft goals. I guess that is why he is "not elite".
We need to start both Crow and Delia some of the remaining games to see what we have in both of them heading into the summer. It might give us a clearer picture for next year. It could affect roster decisions in the offseason. - -Doh-
I don't think that is legal.... |

Well, it definitely reduce both of their GAA's and should give us a legitimate shot to win in most of the remaining games! |

Seemingly it was argued that Crawford was not among the best at his ppsition; instead the word was that he was in the next or second tier of goaltenders.
His last few years - including the 2016 Cup and Olympic team nod should have persuaded most that Crawford entered the top tier of goaltenders. Now if you ask me whom I rather have - Carey Price or Crawford. I go with the former. And while Crawford never has been good with stickhanding of the puck, nonetheless he is a top notch goalkeeper.
He was my hope to return strong early this season insofar as trading him at the trade deadline just to move up or gain another #1. Now you would be crazy to trade for him with his health concern. I foresee Crawford/Delia share net next season but would not be unhappy if he retires and Ward returns for one more season |

If Cam Ward is our Number one goalie next season, all year, make sure to buy a pair of binoculars so you can see the back end of the playoff race.

The coach has to get the players up and running cohesively. Too much talent to be loosing lately. Torts does wear out his welcome matt previously. That said perhaps it is an especially tough challenge melding the group. I am not buying in 100% that the Duchesne acquisition is necessarily handicapping the team effort.
I'll nominate someone whose opinion on Columbus recent plight and playoff success is worth a read: if John Jaeckel writes about it. |

I would not mind Ward next season because it is still a challenge to make playoffs. His salary would be ok. |

Decent article by the Rink about possible prospects in college and juniors who could join the Hogs in the next year or two to add depth on the farm team. Most won’t make it but a few hopefuls for the big club. - AEL_Fox
Am I missing something? From the article: Reese Johnson is certainly a candidate to join the IceHogs late in the year with WHL teammate Brandon Hagel. Hagel has been very successful on a Red Deer team that will likely miss the playoffs. He would arguably be the biggest addition to the IceHogs as they look to have another playoff run similar to last season.
I thought their roster was set. Besides Johnson’s contract begins the 2019/20 season. |

Curious how Icehogs - that is to say AHL teams - skirt an issue. EACH season i notice NHL prospects sign temporary contracts and appear in playoffs (sometimes even late season games). Just roughly a week ago the AHL rosters had to be set for playoffs. |

I believe it was guys on the Hawk roster that needed to be sent down via paper transaction to b3 eligible. Hawks sent Delia & Sikura to get them qualified, then brought them back.
I would assume the rule doesn’t apply to new signees, guys coming from Junior or NCAA. |

Talking about the NHL being a development League . I think it now is becoming somewhat of a development leg. Whit young players on entry level contracts being favored over Vets to save a few dollars ,well then their are players coming in that are not developed . And it fall to these vets ,who are the ones being squeezed out to do the developing .Not a idea situation . To me the cap is watering the game down with to many unproven players flooding into the league .It sure is a young players league , these kids are getting 10 mil plus with out winning squat . Just my Grammpa Simpson rant ..!! |

Why trade Hayden just to trade him? Kruger is a UFA after the next handful of games and likely won't be resigned.
And now just like Jonathan Toews who was a bum and was only good cause he was on a line with Hossa, Crow's recent mediocre play means that he was also never good and merely a product of the defense?

What is wrong with some people? In the last couple of days I have seen suggestions to bring back Kunitz, Ward and Kruger.
Stop this.Stop it right now.
Crow goes down and its get Forsberg or the other guy up here and let's find out what they have. The Hawks are at best going to be a bubble team next season. Why waste space with poopty players. Try young poopty players. |
