The very Obvious names are
Marleau (tough to move but his cap is a big problem)
Brown - paid too much for a 3/4th line now
Hainsey - UFA gone
Gardiner - UFA gone
Zaitsev - (tough to move but his cap is a big problem)
Seems pretty clear to me - senstroll

We traded Clarkson, David.
Of course there is.
Especially after the Leafs pay all the salary up front. |

Yup, alot of teams looking to acquire an over 37 year old player and his 6m cap hit.
Hainsey and Gardiners cap saving are still just below what marner may make. |

They may bring him back on a 1 year deal at the same amount he's getting paid now me think. |

Hopefully not, supposedly he can be replaced by any AHL player.

a 6mil cap and a 1 mil actual salary is a good trade chip..cheapos like Ottawa or Arizona would take that im sure
I just assume PM has to accept the trade? Does Dubas want to upset the room..probably not |

Look who the Leafs got in return.
a player who'll never dress for the Leafs or any other team.
I'm not saying he's not movable just that return will be minimal |

strongly disagree.
i don't like nylander much (newsflash).
but not because he isn't a decent hockey player, but he is obsolete on this leafs team - at least in the cap area, leafs should better be spending that money on another player + need wingers with different skillsets.
but nylander would get a great/good return in any trade, independent of his subpar play and bad attitude. |

I was ribbing Sensy about Nylander.
IF we ever traded him I'd expect a big return of some sort. |

They won't be ready to play top pair next year IMO
But as much as I defend Hainsey because he does some things well, I'd rather see a younger vet with a little more speed brought in. |
