Also one thing I think Button said after the deadline is right. Trades are hard. Dubas has to like the guy available then the other team has to like the pieces being offered. All the while needing to keep an eye on the cap.

I'm honestly not concerned about next year. Regardless of the situation the Leafs have a good team. They may not do as well next year if things remain status quo but look at Tampa. They finished near the bottom to snatch up Hedman and some of their young guys.

I realize guys are negative on Holl, but why not play the guy and get him some ice time? They are locked at no worse than 3rd, is he that much worse? And even if he is, he doesn't even play AHL games. So they never play him and give him ice time and then wonder why he doesn't look good when they do. Makes no sense.

Agreed. I think he's better than marincin and oz. but both have played significantly more than holl.

I've been suggesting the same thing for a while now... my point is we know Marincin is crap.

Why not give Holl a go.. .move Hainsey to the left side.... still a few games left to experiment... and what they are doing right now sure isn't working particularly well.

Thing that doesn't add up to me is that he's been here all year on the roster, but marincicn instantly goes in when he comes up. Team felt he wasn't needed and felt he could be risked going down on waivers but each time he comes up he goes straight in. Doesn't make sense to me.

He had to be at least motivated to go to the Leafs before then, and in fact he has said multiple times that the talent of the young players was a big factor which he obviously knew long before the meeting.

I think he had an idea. I know a guy who worked the golf course he is a member of. He said he always brought teammates from the island. Except last year he stopped. His best friend works at MLSE as of last year. A few small things all added up
