Like what?
Keep on keeping on? Do the same thing you already did? - GreatGigInTheSky
They obviously weren't problems.
Mac will still be backing up when Sparks gets flushed from the show next year. Sure would be nice to have Polak on the third pair atm. |

Yup. Sparks deserved a shot after his great season in the AHL. Unfortunately he hasn't been impressive this year with the Leafs. I'm honestly pretty surprised he was already given an extension for next year. I guess the Leafs brain trust have more faith in him than we do.
As for Polak, I wouldn't have minded keeping him and he isn't too expensive (1.1m), but he'd probably be a healthy scratch when most of our players are healthy. I really wouldn't have minded them bringing him back though. At least in the playoffs he might've been useful to bring a bit of physicality.
When everyone is healthy, scratch Zaits or Gards when you want more toughness and play the Polak. He's fairly slow, but at least he doesn't forget how to play defense every second shift, so he'd probably defend at least as well as either of those two. Then just let his partner carry out the puck.
Partner him with Dermott and you'd have a decent pairing that can hit, defend, and Dermott is pretty good with the puck. |

Meh. The ass I'm facing in my fantasy league playoffs has Price. Didn't want him getting a win. |

Scratch gards for polak? For real?
Unless jakes is in a pine box there is no way you play polak over him. Ever.

Come on Burn, to be fair people are suggesting a lot of good ideas that maybe Dubas overlooked.

Someone needs to tell him to cut it out.
He's making our good players look not quite as amazing as they actually are by setting such a high bar. |

Babs probably wouldn't. But honestly, Gards kinda sucks. We've got other puck carriers that actually don't braincramp every other shift. |

I don’t think there’s a coach in the league that would play polak over gards |
