Omg 3 losses after getting points in 20 straight games or so.
Chill. - Fakepartofme
I think he was joking.
Kind of being facetious using similar stuff to the complaints against the Leafs lately. |

Gards is horrible in his own end but people want polak back who is even worse in his own end and doesn't do anything else at the othe end.
It's crazy to even have this discussion. Gards is miles ahead of polak. - burn
Why do people want polak back?
Yes, id prefer gards over polak.
At least gards gets 1 in 5 stretch passes to its intended target.
I dont think polak even stretches |

Because Burn can't read an entire post.
I was responding to someone else that mentioned we shouldn't have let Polak go.
I said I wouldn't have really minded keeping him since he's cheap, but he probably would've been a scratch regularly if all were healthy.
Then I mentioned he might've been useful in the playoffs when we needed to be a little more physical and mentioned subbing him in for Zaits or Gards when needed. I'm not a fan of Zaits, and Gards while decent offensively, scares me in his own end, and we've got other offensive guys and in some games could use a little toughness more than him and his brainfarts. |

maybe, maybe not. dermott gets way easier minutes and usage, hard to gauge who is more important as a result. |

Dermott is better at defense.
We suck at defense.
He is missed.
But i want both back asap. Need them back up to speed for the playoffs |

the problem with polak is the only thing he's good at is mashing people around the net or in the corners. he's (frank)ing tragic everywhere else. one of the worst in the league that actually plays most games. |

In the playoffs guys like him often seem to shine though. When the refs arbitrarily change the rules after the regular season, guys like him are more useful. |

This is true. I'd like to see Dermott getting Gards' minutes and see how he does. It's possible he'd look less steady in his own zone against tougher matchups. It's so hard to tell sometimes. |

I hate to say it, but Button looks correct on this one. The over aggressive style of defending is leaving guys out of position.
His anti-physical wait for a PP strategy has failed. And he spoke about giving Anderson some rest but we haven't seen it. - aminnes
You actually think the Leafs lack of physical play is mandated by Babcock?

I don't ever remember him coaching a very young team to success. His successes are with teams with a lot of vets and guys with a lot of experience. I'm blown away how many of these young guys take shifts and often nights off. I hope it doesn't turn into Edmonton 2.0 where they all get their fat paycheques and then (frank) the dog after that. I don't think Marner will but. - aminnes
I’m confused on this one, this seems to be a point Babs haters flip flop on.
Babcock preaches hard work above all else, that’s undeniable even to the haters. Yet he accused of being anti-physical.
Babcock gets accused of being too hard on young stars and needs to meet them in the summer months to much media hoopla. Next accusation is how much he lets the young guys take nights off.
Yet the second vets are rewarded for ‘playing the right way’ everyone loses their mind. |

I watched Marleau live last week a few rows up, dude does everything well, does not take liabilities.
Perfectly fine top 6 complimentary winger. |

Lack of response to be sure. A 22 year old defensemen was pushed from behind by a bum from a bad team and absolutely nothing. It's happened before. If he isn't pushing it, her sure as poop isn't holding guys accountable for being the least physical team in the league. If it's purely a personale issue then he and Dubas are not on the same page in this area. |

Just so we’re clear, your stance is: ‘Babcock orchestrated a lack of response to Malone’s hit.’
Was he supposed to tap Hainsey on the shoulder?

I don’t think the that’s the joke, the joke is the coverage it gets and some of the opinions shaped as a result.

Mike Augello: Jekyll and Hyde Leafs need to find formula for success - mikeinbuffalo
lmao 😆

please don’t get your hopes up for a long playoff run this year 🤦♂️
dumbass didn’t trade greedy willi and garbagener for another real deman who doesn’t want to play house and heavier men so you will continue to see our skill players getting their bells rung until they are all gone🤦♂️
we will probably get to se 3-5 games in the playoffs 👍🏿 Depending on how seriously Boston takes us this year 😭
what a (frank)ing joke 🤦♂️
edit: nice alliteration 👍 |

I'm pretty sure that guys that can't get the puck out in regular season and get caved in still get caved in any other time.
