With that contract, he'll have plenty of suitors. On top of that teams always can use defensemen who can carry the puck and help a PP. - Pelle31Forever

Come on, using Gretzky is hyperbole. The better comparison is that Rod Langway is in the same class as Bobby Orr. |

I thought we were talking about Ghost, not Brent Burns. |

They both won the Norris trophy for VERY, VERY different reasons despite, theoretically, playing the same position. |

Is it possible Farabee might find himself in the CHL next year? Given his size and age it might make sense. - Baxter27
Yes teammates with big Sammy for rimouski |

But they're both in the HOF, which means they're basically the same player...
..because that's the best argument to make when comparing players. |

I remember the night of the 2013 draft, fans were pleading for the pick not to be Morin. A player viewed largely as a "project" that early in the draft is often foolish. Lucky the Flyers know better than the rank and file fans. |

I guess it's possible. But I'd think the Flyers would want him in the AHL, and he'd probably like to start earning his pay (although not NHL pay) as early as possible. |

In making my snarky remark comparing Langway to Orr, I saw that they (frank)ing gave Rod Langway not one, but two (frank)ing Norris trophies in the early to mid-80's.
(frank) the NHL awards forever for screwing over Mark Howe during both of those years. |

Mark Howe probably should have won it in 1983. 1984 should have gone to Coffey or Bourque. Heck, Dennis Potvin would have been a better pick. After that, it was a run of Coffey, Bourque, Chelios, and Leetch that I can't really argue with. |

Howe was a Norris trophy worthy defenseman. It's a sin he didn't get one.
I also think that Orr is the best player to play the game. His impact, skating and how he changed the way d men play was revolutionary. Gretzky was also revolutionary and he set every offensive record known to man but he didn't really change the way the game was played. |

Gretzky didn't change the way the game was played, but he did do things no one had done before (set up behind the net, curl just across the blue line) that seem like common sense today. He also was probably the best player ever at using his linemates to their full advantage.
For my money, I agree that Orr is probably the best ever, but there's definitely arguments to make for both Gretzky and Lemieux. |

No doubt they were the 3 best talents to ever play Lemieux had a much shorter career and didn't get to use his talent long enough. Plus he is a Penquin which of course means he sucks ass. |

Missing the playoffs in year 5 of the rebuild. Pretty rough. What is the minimum acceptable result next year? At least a playoff series win? |

The Hall of Fame was just one aspect of the comparison. You know that but then hey let's not let that stop you from using this passive/aggressive tactic that you routinely accuse others of using.

Probably something like that. I think it will be a busy summer. I see ghost involved in a deal with prospects/picks to get a young top 4 d in here that is an all around dman like a trouba. I’m not on board with that I can just see them wanting to mix up the D |
