Peter Tessier: Game 4- Watch, Rinse Repeat Edition What changes for both teams as they try to prevent game 3 or repeat it depending on your perspective.

I wouldn’t say the jets are more skilled, I’d say more top heavy verses St. Louis having their talent more spread out.

Laine getting attention from the Blues should open up scoring for the rest of the Jets. Playing him straight up with no special attention means he gets the chances. And thus far he has buried them. Good to see him find his game in this series.

And please don't tell the Jackets they are the less talented team I don't think they have figured that out yet. We just have to keep that under wraps for one more game.

Graphic popped up during the game Sunday - since entering the league, Laine has scored more goals vs Blues than any other NHLer ... believe it was 16 goals ... 2nd was a tie between Wheels and a Wild player at 8

Pistol Pete - you stated Jets don't need to score 6 goals each game - - - I'm gonna politely disagree ... seems to me they do have to !!!

I'm working away, home office, soon to meet a client for lunch - - - and i'm nervous ! ... not cause of my client - Jets really do need to win again tonight ... need to make this a best of 3 and give us some breathing room ... can't get into a situation where we MUST reel off 3 straight wins

Somebody posted the stat (was it BuzzPete ?) that Jets are 3-0-0 in St louis this year and outscored Blues more than double ... Blues are 3-0-1 in Winnipeg this year winning each by a goal and one OT loss

Congrats to your Blue Jackets on a tremendous effort so far. I have watched all the series but these guys truly have the " eye of the tiger". Being up 3-0 against one of the heaviest favorites in recent memory is a major accomplishment to say the least. I've also always like Torts. Go Jackets !

I look at the rest of the Jets-Blues series in that the Jets just now need to win once in St. Louis and two at home. What I don't like thinking is that they need to win 3 out of 4. Another glass of Laphroiag tonight for me for sure.

I really like what Jarmo did at the trade deadline. I wish more GM's in the league did what he did. It takes major kahuna's to pull of trades for Duchene and Dzingle and hold onto Panarain and Bobrovsky.

It was a clear case of go big or go home for Jarmo. If he didn't do something( or traded Bobro and Panarin) and they didn't make the playoffs he was done as GM.

Pete I notice more often than not you quote the same 3-4 people on twitter who are like minded as you, maybe some diversity is needed.
Side twitter note,
I love all the twitter hero’s who are trying to take credit for predicting Kulikov wouldn’t be great or the jets will get out shot.

from cuethenoise - I wouldn’t say the jets are more skilled, I’d say more top heavy verses St. Louis having their talent more spread out.

Lets take a look at that:

1st: Connor - Sheifle - Wheels Shenn - O'Reilly - Tarasenko
2nd: Ehlers - Little - Laine Schwartz - Sundquist - Perron
3rd: Copp - Lowry - Tanev Maroon - Bozak - Thomas
4th: Perreault - Hayes - Roslovic Steen - Barbashev - Fabbri

1st: Morrissey - Trouba Pietranglo - Dunn
2nd: Chiarot - Byfuglien Bouwmeester - Parayko
3rd: Kulikov - Myers Edmundson - Bortuzzo

Goal: Hellebuyck Binnington

For simplicity I am using Corsica provided by Dailyfaceoff

1st: 79.68 vs 80.69
2nd: 75.42 vs 75.06
3rd: 72.59 vs 73.19
4th: 72.59 vs 72.53

1st: 75.75 vs 78.81
2nd: 75.80 vs 75.45
3rd: 72.07 vs 73.31

Goal: 73.7 vs 73.3

It's clear by Corsica player rating standards that St.Louis has better top-end and depth. Corsica gives Jets the edge in goal. The Blues final cap hit is about 4m higher than Jets. For the Jets to win Maurice will need to out-coach the blues who are the natural favourite in the series.

I try to find quotes that support the point I'm making or make a point I agree with. I'm not saying I'm right all the time just trying to make a point based on how I see things.

I think I'm pretty open to contrary views.

To the Kulikov point I was optimistic about the signing at the time. I was pleased when he returned this season and seemed to settle Myers down a bit. I'm wanting him bought out now. C'est la Vie

I agree on Kulikov. Gone after this season, especially with all the young D talent we have coming up the pipe. Niku, Poolman , Sandberg, etc.

Perreault is also as good as gone. Not many of you agreed with me over the last few months but I think its pretty obvious now his contract is overvalued for what is now a 4th liner who I at least have seen make some super dumb mistakes and stupid penalties over in the last 10 games . Beyond the playoff, stuff was his double penalty late in the season where he was barely out of the box after his first one. I'll take Appleton over Perreault. I'd say the same for Lemieux but he's gone now much to the Rangers glee.

Laine is the 1st player whose play truly reminds me of Brett Hull. He finds seams and soft spots in coverage to use his quick release and good shot, just like the Golden Brett did.

I agree that Hull is the most comparable player for Laine, spectacular release, and all the question marks about the intangibles that will either mature or not. hopefully he can achieve similar success.

Very even game after two periods. Gotta think one goal might win this puppy. Been a game of inches for sure. Puck luck has gone both ways.

Go Jets !

Perreault must be leading the NHL playoffs in penalties by now.

If the Blues had scored on that penalty my headline would have been " Nineteen valiant Warriors and one stupid Frenchmen" .

Does anyone think Perreault will play another NHL game with the Winnipeg Jets ?

One other note. The late effort that Scheif almost scored on was very reminiscent of the Bobby Orr famous goal. It would have been replayed over and over. My other note is ....was there a missed tripping penalty there ?
