Is there something in the CBA that would prevent something like this? Seems pretty underhanded. I would be disappointed if we participated in something like this. Couldn't the Commissioner step in and block this?
I would want Kapanen, but WHY would we help Toronto in such a fashion?

I think Orpik getting traded last year to Colorado and then them buying him out so he could re-sign with Washington got into everyone's heads

No. Colorado did it last year. Got Grubauer from Caps along with Orpik. Bought out Orpik. Caps resigned Orpik.
