Funny thing is the majority of thoses trades from the other team's perspective wouldn't make any sense or they wouldn't part with those players.

I dont think too many teams would want to give the first rounders to make it work. The problem the oilers have aside from lucic, russel, sekera salaries in the way is they had to re sign mcdavid and drai the same year and it takes a few years to get cap breathing room. Trade russel and sekera this year and slowly let the ahl kids earn their spots. If no lucic trade let him play where he can. No more buyouts and no trade sweetners other than retaining salary.

And I believe this hire determines Connors future Here cause whoever the hire is has some creative thinking to do ASAP. I believe just sitting back and waiting for ahl’ers and pro contracts to expire is not gonna be enough..
