Two years ago Carolina finished 21 st , two spots higher than us this year. - VANTEL
They also traded 2 5th overall picks, to acquire Hamilton and Ferland.
They have been a team on the cusp for a couple seasons, after being in a rebuilding phase for about 8 years.
Stay patient and the Canucks will eventually get there. |

We could easily trade Jake (6 th) OJ (5th) |

Big difference between the teams though, Carolina has several good young defense and some nice young forwards, complimented by some solid veterans, ie; Staal and Williams |

You are missing the whole point. In 2017-18 Carolina finished 21 . This year we finished 23 rd (one year later).
They traded two fifth OA picks for a troubled Dougie Hamilton and and Ferland
We can trade Jake and OJ for a troubled Ristolainen
They went after cap troubled teams Chicago.
We can go after cap troubled teams.
They traded for a team leader Staal about 6 years ago we got the other player in that fair trade four years ago.
If you sit and do nothing it will take a decade to rebuild . We have started building this team 6 years ago with drafting Bo Horvat.
I do not believe waiting another 2-3 years is a good thing. |

I am not missing your point, we just have differences in rebuilding philosophies.

Edler 3x6

Not sure how rafferty warrants above one. Jake should be back, as much as he might be a party boy we need his skillset bad and have to believe he can figure it outa but more. |

It’s a good group. No sense selling low on any of our prospects. See who’s fitting together and who isnt and go from there. |

One thing you know as a Canuck fan is no matter what they do, half the fan base will be pissed.
They have been building since Bo 6 years ago and they have some nice players in place. They will get a good pick this year at the draft. They picked up some nice college signings at the end of last year so it is time to make some big boy moves.
I can see them jumping 4 -6 places this year and more again the following year.

The Rafferty offer is as close to an entry level contract and is a waste of time disputing 500k
Most Fans forget Jake's skillset includes taking about 40 games off a year.

I think Sutter is toast man. He looked so so slow. The most crucial thing os find a way to fix the de.
Juolevi will help Hughes will help hopefully a trade will help
Frustrating seeing that in year 6 of Benning we have 1 nhl dman maybe in Hughes long shot at 2 with juolevi since JB took over. Frightening really - Jkuzzi
Hutton and Stetcher are NHL Dmen regardless of their popularity here. They also showed they still had upside this past season.

Sweet. Markstrom injured. There goes our only trade chip. Good luck trying to trade fatty McHutton, Chubs Mctanen or Glassy McTanev - CanuckDon
Dipietro injured as well. This fkn team is cursed.

1st paragraph I totally agree with
2nd paragraph Rafferty is going too be fine and never new much about Teves.
3rd paragraph I disagree with. I think teams will be more focused on Elias, from the get go and he will be more like the player we seen in the 2nd half, unless Brock makes a huge improvement.
I am willing to be patient for another season or 2...heck it has only been about 50 years of patience with this team. lol |

Not sure about Teves either . I think he will be on the Comets and will be welcomed there. I really like what I saw by Rafferty . He gave us a peek into the rabbit hole . I think he will surpass Stecher.
By not making changes will let other teams focus on Pettersson. You have to have at least two top lines to to draw they focus away from one player. Staying pat is probably the worst thing Canucks can do .
They have a core of good young players and they need to bring in more . I don't see how letting teams focus on Petey for two or three more years helps?
His last parting request for the summer was can you get help with a good forward for his line. |

I am sure Bo would like a good winger for his line, as well.

If you are not willing to trade Jake then you better be open to signing Tyler Myers.
There are only a few RHD available , so if you are not willing to trade then expect to overpay. |

I disagree. We could at least recoup the pick we used on him if we qualify him. Teams are always looking for depth on D. |
