I'm curious, who do you think they are replacing all of these players with?

Are you suggesting bringing them back?

I was looking at Rubens comments about the team being slow. I think Hughes will be a starting point to change that. Having Sutter back will make the team faster. Brock said he will work on his skating this year.

I don't think Canucks are a slow team at all. They are not the fastest team but I would say they are fast enough for now.

- VANTEL

lol overall they are not a slow club...a few players sure but we have definitely improved in that dept. It's the geniuses that predicted the bottom 3 finish that don't want to acknowledge the team is actually getting better albeit slowly.

I think Sutter is toast man. He looked so so slow. The most crucial thing os find a way to fix the de.
Juolevi will help Hughes will help hopefully a trade will help

Frustrating seeing that in year 6 of Benning we have 1 nhl dman maybe in Hughes long shot at 2 with juolevi since JB took over. Frightening really

No, I just don't think there is going to be this monumental purge that you expect. Unfortunately, I don't see Loui going anywhere and I don't think they have the balls to send him to Utica. I think they will keep Granlund and probably Hutton, Schaller & Biega.

Too much money, guessing, I like what he brings but the team needs to improve its skill level first then get some heavier players. I don’t think he’s played much in the playoffs.

They are not actually as bad with the D situation as most think but that would open a 10 page debate on here.

They do have Woo and a few others that are close . I think Woo will be here for the 2020 season .

Keep Drafting D with top picks.

I think Markstrom covered up how bad our de actually is. That being said if Q Juolevi and Woo can all contribute that's a pretty big change hopefully for the better

His injury history should cost him dollars and term. Might fit in here.

I wasn't serious about Burke becoming Pres, although I believe either they put Benning there and get a new GM, or they get a President of Hockey Ops
- Reubenkincade

What about just hiring another AGM, who’s shown capable of some of the things Benning (and Weisbrod) have proven terrible at? In a year or two (or three) you can always promote from within.

Makes no difference the titles, but the Canucks lack brain power at the top so the need someone smart to join the team.

They would be idiots to bring back Hutton at 3-4 mil while they can get the same game play out of Sautner with less mistakes.

Pouliot should be fired out of a cannon

Biega should be sent to Utica or Schenn you only need one of them

Benning knows if he is Mr Nice Guy again this year he will be unemployed. This team needs serious change, he said he will make changes so let's wait and see. Currently now Canucks have 17 forwards they need to get rid of 4 of them even without finding the promised top 6 forward. League rules will force Canucks to make changes.

Canucks have a winning record with Demko also so it is not only Markstrom. Markstrom did what he got paid to do .

The first three I could see and I agree it’d be an improvement. The biggest question is if Edler walks it really hurts the defense.

The middle section is meaningless, doesn’t make anything better.

The third section all those guys played on the team so I don’t know how they replacing each other? Baertschi doesn’t play a bottom six role so how is he replacing Grandlund? Neither does Pearson so how is he replacing bottom six winger Eriksson?

Sven in my mind is done, one good hit and he’s back on the LTIR.

??? Pettersson Boeser
Pearson Horvat ???

Most are under contract, or are RFA’s with no arbitration rights. The only guy I can see them walking away from is 💩

Canucks currently have 12 signed forwards for next year without Brock or any RFA/UFA signed.

They have currently also have 6 Dmen signed for next year without RFA/UFA signed.

Change has to come.

There’s way too many bottom six players in Benning’s acquisition stable, this has to change.

Top six,

Pettersson Horvat Boeser / Pearson Baertschi (debatable)

Bottom six,

Roussel Virtanen Leivo Eriksson Goldobin Granlund Motte Sutter Gaudette Beagle Schaller

There’s eleven players for six spots in the bottom six.

Sending guys to the minors isn’t exactly change. It’s essentially the same team still.

They will re-sign Hutton and then try and trade him.

Pouliout is done.

Biega will be the perennial 7-8 d-man.

All the other guys are part of the three 3rd line club. Meh.

The change you are hoping for is not happening over night. As Reuby pointed out, watching the playoffs makes you realize that the Canucks are many pieces and years away.

The problem is they keep putting those bottom guys in top six roles. Benning keeps adding other teams junk trying to find something, he needs to stop that and acquire top six talent. I have no faith in that man.

Or, wait for it...

...they can fire Benning.
