By the end of next year you will think it is a steal.

Maybe. I hope he becomes an everyday player

Rafferty is pretty close to entry level 3 year contract
- VANTEL

Not sure what you mean by this, as Rafferty is no longer ELC eligible and can be signed anywhere from 1-8 years.

I was treating it similar to an entry level contract with a bit of a bonus.

I'm not on board with an offer sheet that forfeits our 1st round pick.

I am however driving the train on an offer sheet worth 2nd round compensation.

I have been following him for the past 2 seasons, I believe he will be a solid 4-5 guy.

I am looking forward to the Memorial Cup, so you see why I am high on Lavoie and not willing to give up any picks next season, as they also have a very good RH D, in Justin Barron that could be a 1st rounder, or no later than 2nd rounder, in the 2020 draft.😁

What would we give up if Marner signs here?

The last time the Canucks offer sheeted someone, it was Gillis offering Backes. St. Louis retaliated and offer sheeted Bernier, who we just acquired for more assets than his offer sheet would have compensated us with. In hind sight, I wish we would have let him go.

Despite what the media is pumping up, look at the success rate of OS's. Plus I can't see our Gomer Pyle pulling it off.

Gentle Jim would never ever consider an offer sheet. This is pure bath salt driven madness 🤬

Nor should He, at this point in the rebuild stage.
A contract of 10 million, plus Elias having a chance at 2.8 in bonuses and Brock's new contract and Hughes at a possible .5 in bonuses and a slight chance that Luongo retires, costing 4.5 for the next 3 seasons and this team would be in cap hell, still needing several forwards and at least 2 defensemen.

Then Toronto has 3 franchise players, that couldn't get them out of the 1st round.
By giving up 2 1sts a 2nd and a 3rd, you wouldn't be adding any quality players through the draft, after this 1, for at least 2 seasons.
This team would be stuck in bubble territory for a decade.

Franchise player or not, it's still a team game. Just ask Carolina and their 2 backup goalies.

I agree, you may want to let the offer sheet gang know that.😁
