Botts preaches patience but we’ll find out if he is. I agree as I’d rather wait to make sure he’s ready then bring him up too soon
Hopefully he shows he’s ready in camp as we will need him but if he’s not, they can’t force it. - sabrerob
Don’t worry usually people that do good in camp don’t make the team lol

( looking at you tage) - gerbe75pts
As a UConn alum I am really rooting for Tage and glad they got him. I just hope he can fill out and take the next steps. He should have been sent to the A much earlier and should be down there for at least the 1st half of this season. Hope he puts in the work this summer.
Like many prospects, we see improvement and we get our hopes up and they don’t take that next step and sometimes regress. The organ-eye-zation needs to make sure they are developing properly. It very concerning that it happens so much with the Sabres. - sabrerob
Botts has said on numerous occasions that he's all about development. The way he kept Pilut, Olofsson et al in Rochester last season seems to back that up

This GM is one of, if not the most patient GM we've had when it comes to prospect development.

JB won't pull the rip cord on him. That's part of a package he's getting tons of heat for. It's the same reason TT made the team over Nylander - jcragcrumple
I still don't get the TT anomaly. Every other prospect sat in Rochester until they were definitely ready, yet he never did. His flashes were enough to keep him here. Botts continues to defend the decision, but no one's convinced about him earning his spot here. Every other prospect needed to labor in the AHL.

I still can’t understand what was going through his mind last year with that dumbass move ..
that’s something that you would do in NHL19 playing your friends

Two factors imo-
JB wanted Berglund, Sobotka and TT in the lineup to show how his trade madeover the roster
And
TT had played in the NHL the year before
But no one can tell me that he was better in the preseason than Nylander. It's just not true
I'm not a card carrying member of the Alex Nylander fan club, but that was some BS.
I also think that after VO won the player of the month in October, they should have swapped VO and TT. If Olofsson struggled, they could have just swapped him back
