Bob Duff: Johnson: Good Guy Gone Too Soon Greg Johnson, a Detroit Red Wings center from 1993-97, died Monday at the age of 48.

He was a good enough hockey player to suit up for 85 NHL games over 12 seasons...


Sad news to be sure. Per Bill Meltzer's blog today, Johnson played 785 NHL games.

48 years old.......way too young. He was a great Preds captain too. I miss the Nashville Detroit games. Lots of Michigan transplants down here that helped Nashville build a fan base in those early years.
