Ended up stumbling upon an old Down Goes Brown article where he listed the worst free agent signings of all time. #1 was "basically any NYR free agent signing, ever."

He made a compelling case. If you think about it, 99% of UFA signings end up being disasters, and since the Rangers are so attractive to guys wanting to be media superstars, it makes for a bad combination for Rangers fans.

This is such a lazy argument. Do you have any idea how many teams have almost as much locked-up on more-yet much, much worse players? Vancouver i s supposed to be rebuilding, but now have less $ than the Leafs do on the cap and have to pay their young players.
Overpaying for bottom 6 talent is not the answer at all. Leafs have a set of established young stars who will get better. Dubas paying 700K for Spezzza is so much better than the crap 3-5 million per deals for bottom 6 guys teams paid.

Your "Guess" about things getting tougher in December is due to the Leafs fall at that time, right? Their save$ dropped horribly at that time. Why assume that will repeat? Will Andersen get injured at the exact same time?

And please stop with the "One of the big 4 will be moved". I heard all year Nylander would 100% be traded and Marner would get offersheets. They aren't going anywhere.

Yes, it's a vote by different journalists covering the NHL.

Technically he isnt.....tavares and Matthews are both top line players. I actually think Matthews is going to lead the team in scoring, both goals and points.
