It would be a bad pick because you make picks to hopefully play on your NHL roster, not galavant around the AHL.

At some point he has to take that step. 2 years is plenty of time to develop.

Our top 4 is going to play a ton of minutes this year.

I'd rather let those two dominate in the AHL and play in all situations while costing us nothing than get like 12 minutes playing on our 3rd pairing.

Hell NO!!! PTO for garbage thanks anyways...

Harpur and CyBorg are just fine for the lower pairing, they can at least somewhat skate and move. Dion is even more of a damn pylon and liability and brings zero to the table for us. Our up tempo game doesn't even mesh with Vanek or Dion. Jesus Dion could NOT even keep up with the slower Kings!!!

Don't need the garbage, use the guys we developed and are young, fast, and at least hungry there! That is just utterly stupid.

Think we are just fine and really if we could find a move for Brodie I would not mind that but then again at what cost to slot him in there? Think that kind of ended getting Barrie but never know.

What we need to do is just get this Marner stuff over and done with finally and move a few odds and ends out for whatever we get picks and such...

will joe bowen get the chance to mistakenly call ras sandin as mats sundin one day before the cycle of life completes it's lap?

Sadly, injuries are likely..

I’ve never been one to promote over marinating players... If they’re ready, they’re ready. I think Sandin is 100% ready, he probably could have played last season.

But Borgman should be on the bottom pairing. Maybe not with Harpur, but he should be there.

People are delusional with NYlander. All the doubters will eat their words. He's as talented as he is handsome.

I think Kerfoot is going to be the key to Willy having a successful year. If he does a good job as 3rd line center it forces Babcock to keep Willy up as Mathews winger where he belongs. If this happens Willy easily gets 75-80 pts IMO

Liljegren is a bust because he's not an NHLer two years after he was drafted? Holy balls some people have high standards for prospects.

I said he has to make it this year.

At some point.

And I think my take on the matter is quite reasonable.

There's no chance Nylander is paying for that. All i've heard is how greedy he was for holding out for his $6.9M. I wonder if he'll honour the number change on all the black market jerseys fans get for less than half the price.............that greedy bastard!!

Bird..

Honestly, you sorta lost me with the childish behaviour these past few months. I’m not replying to these little jabs.

If you want to discuss hockey, then let’s stick to that.

But I’m not taking part in your little circle-jerk tea party with the other derps.

You just did.

Edit: Liljegren is a bust because he doesn’t make the NHL at 20. Ok, dude.

Take away Babcock's toys.

I think he's on his last legs in Toronto this year; gotta get out of the 1st round or Babs is gonzo.

players develop at their own pace, not based on their draft position.

theathletic as improving defensively; but projects him with a low ceiling offensively.

he's only 20. he has 2-3 more years.

but might be better as a trade chip.

17th overall..

Usually that don’t need 3 years in the minors.

no risk to bringing in guys on pto's.

adds some competition to camp if nothing else. nothing lost if it's a fail.

I haven’t given up on him, but he has to make that jump or else he’ll be labeled a bust, by most ppl anyways. Maybe he’s a late bloomer, or maybe injuries set him back, or maybe he just doesn’t have all the pieces to be an NHL player.

Really shouldn't put restrictions on when players should reach their potential. That's how you end up trading the Steens and Stralmans of the world.

I don't think it is, not for a defenseman. They take time.

There's literally zero urgency either. But like I said, I see him getting some time in March, just like Dermott did, and then seeing what we have next year.

Could surprise out of camp though, you never know, I just think him playing another full year with the Marlies is not bad for a 20 year old defenseman.
