Ok gang, let's park the grade 2 name calling and stick to Leafie stuff. On another note, does anyone think that Naz might come back after his contract ends? Be 31, but still good for a few more years. Hopefully, he gets to see the play-offs with the Avs for a change. - Leafsmart
Probably not..
But he’d be a candidate if there ever was one. |

The forward pool looks pretty full, even with the Hyman injury, but I'm kind of surprised nobody has put Bracco into their lineup. It's wierd to have a young talent most likely ready for a top six role with nowhere to put him. |

With Kerfoot and Kapanen and Johnsson on the 3rd line... Kapanen/Johnsson will be on the top two lines while Hyman is out.
also depends on where Mikheyev (sp?) plays |

People are delusional with NYlander. All the doubters will eat their words. He's as talented as he is handsome. - RogerRoeper
There's no way he is that talented. |

There's a lot of positive talk about Mikeyev but i knew (frank) all about any of the imports we've brought in over the last few years and same for this guy. None of them have been great so far so we'll see. Linholm was awful.
I'm sure the Hyman injury will open up space for someone somehow and Bracco would be my choice but we'll see. It's so nice to have talent on the team |

Just change the channel. He's worthless. Sad to say, I'll take my chances with 52. |

You can't see from watching the game when he commandeers the tunage in the dressing with his Messieresque leadership. |

You must be new here. It is Never too early for ridiculous hype.
(I thought someone from the leafs was quoted saying he would be top 6. I know that sounds ridiculous)

I haven’t given up on him, but he has to make that jump or else he’ll be labeled a bust, by most ppl anyways. Maybe he’s a late bloomer, or maybe injuries set him back, or maybe he just doesn’t have all the pieces to be an NHL player. - Arctic_AARDVARK
the issue (in my opinion) is opportunity... not something that Babcock has a stellar record with (again - just my opinion).... until this year Ron Hainsey has played the right side for the most part and more than 20 minutes a night, and the Leafs have had Rielly and Gardiner as established parts on the left side. There doesn't seem to have been much opportunity to introduce Liljgren ... and I believe Dubas was against promoting him or Sandin last year - so as to maintain them as expansion draft exempt for the upcoming Seattle expansion.
so... all rolled up... we weren't going to see either Liljgren or Sandin last year for that reason... not because either isn't ready.
I hope that Dubas doesn't give some PTO candidate to Babcock, 'cause you know Mike from Saskie will always favor the old guy.

dont' waste your time..... Phaneuf has slowed noticeably AND he can't turn to his left.... plus I'm guessing Tavares will refuse to go anywhere near the net ... with Dion on the ice.

No to Phaneuf, Vanek, Girardi...
It'll be something like this to start the season:
Johnsson-Matthews-Nylander
Mikheyev-Tavares-Marner
Moore-Kerfoot-Kapanen
Petan-Spezza-Shore
Agostino
Muzzin-Barrie
Rielly-Ceci
Bottom pairing will probably be a revolving door of:
Marincin, Holl, Borgman, Kivihalme, Gravel, Harpur - gravyface
I think Bracco has a strong shot at making the team.
play him with Mathews.

Oh for frank's sakes, really?
Let's play a fun game.
Liljegeren was selected 17th overall in the 2017 draft.
Can you guess how many NHL games have been played in total by all defencemen selected after him in the 2017 draft?
Sixty franking two.
Sixty mother-franking two.
It's franking redonkabonk to suggest that Liljegren has been held back in any way.
He has received great experience with the Marlies, while figuring out the North American game.
Shame on you, Borje.
Shame on all of you. |

Fun fact I did not know:
In the 2017 draft, the Islanders drafted Sebastian Aho in the 5th round.
He's a defenceman. He's played 22 NHL games.
Who knew? |
|
|
|
A mid first rounder shouldn’t need 3 seasons in the minors. If he doesn’t make the jump this season, it was a bad pick.
I don’t like admitting it either, but it’s do or die for Timoth... - Arctic_AARDVARK
Tell that to the Red Wings. They are notorious for over cooking prospects. Served them well over the years. |

Take away Babcock's toys.
I think he's on his last legs in Toronto this year; gotta get out of the 1st round or Babs is gonzo. - gravyface
Babcock blamed everyone but himself … I think the leaf should have grabbed coach Q the best and real best coach in the NHL... Babcock has been gliding on his laurels forever... coach Q should be in charge of Team Canada going forward to boot.... not this guy Babcock... |
