Technically he isnt.....tavares and Matthews are both top line players. I actually think Matthews is going to lead the team in scoring, both goals and points.

I wonder if mikhayev will wear 66....i hope he doesn't personally. I view that number the same way I do 99.

you can score all the points you want, if you can't lead your team to victory it doesn't teally mean a whole lot. ask phil kessel, scored lots for toronto couldn't lead the team to success got traded to a better team took on a lesser role and won 2 cups. i personally don't like taylor hall's game and i think he's a dumb ass, can't see him leading a team to success unless it's stacked and he already failed once at that in edmonton.

He also led his team to two memorial cups...is it his fault Edmonton drafted poop and had no dmen or goalies? And 6 points in 5 playoff games for a team that was in the basement (hischier)....thats decent. And we saw how bad Jersey was without him last season.

I think Dubas has it under control for this season but also knows it is highly problematic to have a salary structure that is so top heavy on the CAP. And, more provoking, so thin and vulnerable after the top six.

My guess is the Leafs are fine until Christmas. But the league gets a lot tougher after Christmas and especially in the playoffs where depth and winning become synonymous.

Dubas knows he is going to have to deal one of the big four salaries sometime in the next 12 months. It is probably wise for him to go slow and pick his spot.
