Birdied 17.

He's -4 walking to the 18th tee (he birdied it yesterday).

Projected cut: -3 and under.

So obviously this next hole is going to be bad.

Like, Maple Leafs cap hell kinda bad.

Par on 18.

Just in case you are wondering about how Chiarelli did in Edmonton, I'll let the Edmonton Sun give you a quick rundown:

https://edmontonsun.com/s...l-manager-peter-chiarelli

Chiarelli, 54, was hired by Oilers CEO Bob Nicholson on April 24, 2015, nine days after being fired by the Boston Bruins.

Chiarelli oversaw the selection of Connor McDavid first overall in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft and then hired McLellan as head coach.

During his tenure, Chiarelli made a number of ill-fated roster decisions, which began with trading the 16th and 33rd pick to the New York Islanders for defenceman Griffin Reinhart.

The Islanders selected centre Mathew Barzal with the 16th pick.

Reinhart went on to play 29 games with the Oilers in 2015-2016 before being left unprotected in the 2017 NHL Expansion Draft and selected by the Vegas Golden Knights. He is currently in the American Hockey League.

Barzal went on to win the Calder Trophy in 2018.

In June 2016, Chiarelli traded 2010 first overall pick Taylor Hall to the New Jersey Devils for defenceman Adam Larsson.

Last season Hall had 93 points for New Jersey and won the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player.

That summer, Chiarelli also signed winger Milan Lucic to a seven-year, $42-milllion free-agent contract.

After scoring 23 goals and registering 50 points in his first year with Edmonton, Lucic’s offence has dried up. He had two goals through the 2018 calendar year and has five goals and 12 points in 50 games this season.

Lucic, 30, has four years remaining on his contract after this season and is likely to be bought out before the end of the term.

In June 2017, Chiarelli traded winger Jordan Eberle to the New York Islanders in exchange for Ryan Strome, who was traded this season for Ryan Spooner.

The Oilers waived Spooner on Monday, but he was back in the lineup Tuesday against the Red Wings after clearing waivers.

Chiarelli’s final transaction for the Oilers was announced Monday, extending goaltender Mikko Koskinen to a three-year, contract with an average annual value of $4.5 million.

The move was surprising considering Koskinen had played just 27 games with the Oilers after spending the previous five seasons in the KHL.

Spatso still thinks they should have taken Laine.

Like we do at work sometimes, the interview might be a simple formality, a favour to someone...out of respect, doesn't mean he has much of a chance
- Symba007

Token interview. The old boys club protect their own. Pretend to be interested to keep his name out there. But no chance we'll hire him.

Spatso likely thought the Pens should've taken Bobby Ryan over Crosby.

I'm in recruiting and if I have a "Star" candidate, I'll pad the stats with 2-3 other pooptier candidates to make the star look even better and say "Well you've interviewd 4..."

Has he done anything that turned out to be a good move?

I can't even think of one?

Drafting McDavid doesn't count because that's just something a green plant would have done.

Trading for Nathan Horton & Dennis Siedenberg and then for Mark Recchi. Those are about it.

Edit: just saw you were only talking about in Edmonton so nvm. Those were great moves though.

Those were good trades though. Don't get me wrong, an NHL organization shouldn't hit him with a truck, but I'll give him some credit for those.

LTIR for Buston will help the Leafs get under the cap.

Hopefully he’s out until the start of the 2023-24 season.

Although we will probably still be in CAP HELL!!!!!!

Is this thing a tournament, or do they just play each other and then go home?
