I hear Linden was fired by a text message, what a classless, spineless ownership group we have.

At least we have a GM who is slowly getting better at his job.

They are just as likely to reject the 20 year old to some degree. Like I said, it's a popularity contest if you are going to compare the two. Bo is a bonafied leader and always has been. People can assume what EP is going to be like as a leader.... but we don't really know yet. He wasnt mature enough last season to be a Captain... didnt Captain Sweden, didnt Captain his SEL team... jury is still out and would be asking him to be something he dosnt have a lot of experience with yet. If his on ice performance trumps everything... he doesnt need the C. Players will follow regardless. Meanwhile his lippy arrogant attitude over nothing more than dumb standard questions by the media will escalate. They will fish for reactions and he'll deliver and the cycle will get worse. Someone like Bo will have to sit him down. Contradicting who the leaders are.

Short term I could see the marketing strategy. You can see in here even.

At some point people have to start considering the other side of the Linden soap operas and there is a pattern there.

Linden fired as Pres. in a disrespectful manner we are told and he has a bunch of stuff to say publicly after.

Linden is forced into retirement before he is ready by Gillis Linden claims and he has a bunch of nasty things to say publicly(over and over on Dan Russels show).

Linden is stripped of the C and then eventually traded. Treated with disrespect he says publicly.

Linden has the NHLPA turn him claiming he screwed them over.

I've asked this a couple of times since he was fired. Is there a side to Linden that we just don't want to recognize?

And Linden is a drama queen. The narratives are intriguing today.

When a team’s true alpha says something, his peers don’t go on Roxy benders/video game all nighters. I’d bet $ if EP talked to the squad about professionalism & expectations, guys would start getting their sh!t together. Just my opinion.
- DrChristianTroy

What a load of poop. No offense, you're usually one of the more level-headed posters on here, but that's absurd.

First, the idea of a "true alpha" is idiotic. A team of 20+ guys is going to hang off the words of one guy who out-alphas them all into submission? The concept of the modern alpha male is socially-driven/idolized, and the basis for it in the scientific community questionable.

Second, a 20 year old rookie comes onto the team and tells 25, 30 year olds to stop going out and partying? I'm sure that'd go over so well.

All this aside, FA is ball-less for firing a guy through text. Man up and do it face to face.

Name one person who ever defended Frankie Aqulini. I think you are preaching to the choir. Sort of like telling us the sky is blue

It’s just a new low. I knew he was a shady dude but at least be a man. I question where he’d be in life without his dad’s wealth and business.

I was not sticking up for anyone. Just look at it this way... at what point do people start looking at him not being able to have a clean break anywhere? It's a soap opera every time. Is there more to Linden once we put all our romantic notions aside?

FA is a sleaze bag. Real estate guy... sounds like a Canadian version of Trump.

Keenan and Messier were villains for trading Linden, one of the best moves in franchise history.

It's natural for people to get attached to players, coaches, GM's and defend them.

So does Hooglander get the nod for the next skilled type prospect to make the team? If so, where does that leave Madden, Lockwood, Gaudette, Lind, Goldy, Sven as a fit on the new look Canuck team?

The scientist responsible for popularizing the use of "alpha male/beta male" said himself that his research was inconclusive, there's no such thing
