Hockey IQ is such a stupid term. Goldobin might have somewhat of a decent offensive talent, but is brutal at turning pucks over in the offensive zone, with his cross ice passes and is pathetic in the neutral and defensive zones.
Not sure how that equates to him having a high hockey IQ...Elias, on the other hand, is a player with high IQ. - Reubenkincade
Bennings interview with Sekeres & Price yesterday might have been the best on-air performance I've seen from him in quite a while. It ranged quite widely through topics like free agency signings, the captaincy, Petey working to get stronger, Boeser's contract, the management team structure, Miller, Olli, Goldy, LE, etc.
I think the one thing we can agree on, is having a player like sven being pushed to a bottom 6 position because of depth is a good problem to have. This roster is finally shaping up like a legit contender. Whether hes top 6, bottom 6, having offensive contributions from your bottom 6 is a good problem. I'm excited for the season - Codes1087
I was trying to quote your post, which is of the usual high standard, other than the part about Goldobin having High IQ. - Reubenkincade
perhaps IQ wasn't the best wording for Goldy. I will concede that being somewhat decent in one zone of the ice, and terrible in the other 2, doesn't warrant having high IQ. I still hope he can be a NHLer for this team one day, if he ever learns to play the right way. I imagine the reason the negotiations are taking so long, is that Goldy and his camp are looking for a cheap, 1 year NHL one way contract, and Benning is trying to negotiate a 2 year two-way.

You may be right, but, I think Goldobin thinks he is worth more than the Canucks are willing to give him, also, until Brock signs, I doubt Goldobin gets signed.
I seen their standback tour with the cannon in the 70s at the old civic center in PG - Bettmanhatesus
It was the first live show I saw as some music fest outside of Sydney in the mid 70's. The show waited for the full moon to come over the ridge to kick off out of tradition. Was an experience. Saw them a couple more times later in life. (frank) can he and the band put on a show. Their blues harp player was a wild man.
Matt was one of my father's best friends growing up in Cape Breton. They were a couple of trouble makers. I remember Matt coming around the house when I was 5,6,7 yrs old.

Thanks Carol.
Ferland with Petey and Boeser. Hmmm... we'll see how that looks in the preseason but as far as my gut tells me, they should load up and put Miller on that line to utilize the two amazing shots beside him. - boonerbuck
Ya I'm not feeling Ferland with Petersson/Boeser either. Thought Miller was brought in for that role.
Ferland makes more sense with Bo/Pearson. Crash and bang a couple big bodies on the same line.
This just in. Tanev injured while at the doctors office getting a check up. Out 4-6 weeks with apparent knee injury after the doctor tested his reflexes.

5 minutes into game 1 green will throw them in a blender if history repeats itself. - Bettmanhatesus
well if Goldy is on the roster starting day it will only be 5 games before he is back in Green's doghouse. Baertchi should be concussed within 10 games and I'll say Tanev will be out within 15. Edler I'll give 20-25 games before he goes down with injury. Sutter? lol take your pick.
