Sven and Goldy might not make the second line either, I would like to see if the chemistry that Bo and Tanner had late last year is still there if not then give Sven a go on the second line |

Lines are fluid. There's going to be lots of changes/experimenting during camp and I would think that continues a bit into the season.
With all the roster turnover, I think that's natural. While management and the coach might have some ideas on how they will approach preseason/season, it's going to take a bit of time to find the best fits/chemistry.
Hopefully Brock signs soon because everyone needs to be at camp with all the new faces! |

True but its a small sample size.

Factoring in learning new systems, new line mates, new chemistry, new sweater colors, I'd argue pearson actually scores at a 60 goal pace.

Hockey IQ is such a stupid term. Goldobin might have somewhat of a decent offensive talent, but is brutal at turning pucks over in the offensive zone, with his cross ice passes and is pathetic in the neutral and defensive zones.
Not sure how that equates to him having a high hockey IQ...Elias, on the other hand, is a player with high IQ. - Reubenkincade
That’s all bang on.
Thinking on when i played on the ice the perspective is not the anywhere near what we see on tv. He’s lost on D. His O-zone giveaways irritate me. It’s either telegraphed or too non chalant especially on the PP & we have to go back & re-enter. He likes to make his plays from the 1/2 boards once we enter the zone. If he settled down & made the open short pass on a give & go or pass when the PK shifts it would be better imo. |

Did you get to listen to the 42 minute interview with Benning, he pretty much said the same as your post, and he was pretty confident that Brock and Goldobin will both be there. |

I think Pearson is going to get his 15-20 goals regardless who he plays with, he's not a guy who elevates his teammates, something that Horvat could use if he's going to take another step. |

Same here being he & Bo have good chemistry but it bumps someone down to the 3rd. Idk about that since Sutter is a black hole on offence. We do have good C depth it’s just the make-up that scoring on the 3rd line can be a problem. |

I just shortened the message to hockey talk. You're a mod, certainly one I respect. I haven't been banned in years (that I know of) although I'm sure i've deserved it.
My comment regarding Pearson is that it's open competition time. We've added a bunch of new faces to the team, let's see who performs together. |

Afternoon everyone,
I have been extremely busy and have been staying away to focus on other issue that actually really matter in life.
I recently had a message request to see if I could influence the people in charge to add a couple more refs for this blog. I am assuming that things have gone off the rails in here (AGAIN). I have seen that a few regulars have been banned recently and after reading the beginning of the last Carol blog I can see that a few are using the main blog to voice their love (sarcasm) for each other. Please take it to the forums and keep your petty squabbles out of this blog.
Now the likelihood of Capt EO assigning more refs is probably not going to happen, as I have been away I have to assume either WhiteLie or Micah555 were the refs that handed out the bans. So there has been some policing that is ongoing but it seems the bans just don't work or people just think they have a right to be obnoxious with each other.
To all the tough guy keyboard warriors, please find a different forum to air the petty bullsh!t. If this starts up again when I log on, the timeout starts at 1 week, then 2, then a month, then 3 months.
Thank you for understanding.
BTW some good discussions in here today, Bo for Captain, I prefer Ferland with Petey and Boes, and Miller with Bo and Pearson.
Good interview with Benning.
Have a good weekend. - Makita

Absolutely agree with all of your post, this is the best part coming up, who out shines in camp, Benning did say Eriksson will be given opportunity to prove he belongs but the competition will be strong.
So good to feel excited about a Canucks season again. |

Rush at the PG coliseum to around the same time 2 of the greatest Canadian bands imo, BTO and the guess who are right up there as well - Bettmanhatesus
BTO was my 1st concert. Back-ups were Bob Seger & the Charlie Daniels band. Seger inly had out his 1st album at the time. CDB hadn’t done Devil went down to Georgia yet. They were booed off the stage in their 1st song. Apparently Vancouver wasn’t ready for the fiddle. There was a huge puuf-a-thon waiting it out for BTO 😜💨💨 |

I don't think you'll know until Feb 1st, maybe mid-month.
There are a pile of new faces.
All of this optimism doesn't mean i have to like all of the moves made this summer. |

I didn't listen to the interview.
I'm glad that Brock (especially) will be at camp. I vaguely remember reading in the past that players who hold out during camp/early season have subpar years.
If Benning says it will get done, I believe him. He says it like he sees it with this type of stuff. I have concerns about the long term cap but we'll cross that if/when we get to it and I suppose that getting Brock into camp is more important (right now.) |

Beartschi has long standing chemistry with Horvat. Also, more than with Petey.
Miller Petey Boeser
Beartschi Horvat Ferland
Pearson Sutter Virtanen
Leivo Beagle Motte
Or swap Sven and Pearson on the Horvat line to try and balance out 3 scoring lines but I like Sven in the top 6 when healthy... - boonerbuck
I think you’re closest.

I think it comes down to how much other teams improved or didn't.
If the division plays out similar to last year, they'll be in.
...but I'm not sure the west/division will be as bad as last year. |
